Awe, I remember those days. I was one of those cool skater kids with the spikey hair, popular for my talent in skateboarding! Out here in L.A when staples center was made it was like my playground! Getting chased by the security was such a thrill! Sure miss those days! Broke a collar bone and had several sprains from skating that I don't regret because it was such an experience. Most of us started going sideways though. Getting into gangs, doing drugs, moving away.
people bitched at skateboarders back then, they even made laws against it in some places you just think it's a big deal now because of social media god i fucking hate social media
I lived this era in Paris. Skateboarding was trendy and cool. Best moment on my life, sport, fun, no competition, we encouraged each other and no cell phone, we didn't care what others thought. Now i’ve two kids and skatboarding is an old friends only in my heart. It's like we had to live this in 2000 and then it disappeared, sadly.
Can’t believe early 2000’s is considered historic footage already. 1995 to 2000 was my skate and rave days. (15-20 years old). Happy days. After 9/11 things turned to shit real fast. Now it seems every few years things get exponentially worse.

I was born in the 2000s, can i still say i wish we lived in a time before cellphones without sounding like a boomer? It just seems much simpler and carefree...
you know that boomer video is dumb and a bunch of lies to weaken you. Boomers life was harder than you can even imagine, they built this country, survived the war and depression, they were known as one of the greatest generations that ever lived, millennials are known as the worst. If you do not respect your elders then plan on being dumb. But these are GenX not boomers. Boomers are 80 years old.
@@arcaneflame4696 Everything you described was either a mix of the greatest or silent generation. Boomers were born from the late 40s to mid 60s and lived relatively peaceful and prosperous lives.
maple tree yea then they would be around 80 duh. And no the silent generation did not ever see the industrial revolution. You really wanna correct me and be wrong?
As much as I do appreciate having my smart phone I do wish I did grow up during times when cell phones weren't much of a thing. I always love hearing stories from my parents from when they lived in California during the 80s and 90s
Seems to have been a social shift in the mid-2000s. I've always felt about that specific time period that looking back. Undoubtedly the internet becoming a part of regular, daily life with the introduction of smartphones and its spread among the masses, affecting the development of a whole generation, for better or worse. What I find even more interesting is how humanity happened to reach such an advanced point around the turn of a millennium.
Does anyone agree that footage before the September 11 attacks, especially in New York, is so eerie. There is a strange and unnerving feel about this kind of footage, I can't describe it.
Skateboarding was my childhood habit but now I don't remember how to do it. I've decided to buy a Santa Cruz tomorrow and start again as a beginner but when I go to the skate park the kids do better than me I'm embarrassed lol
Far out 2000 was 20 years ago. I was only 4 years old but i remember a good portion of it and it does feel like yesterday. For me the crazy thought is the distance of time being the same between 2020-2000 as it was between 2000-1980. If we go a further 20 years back it’d be 1980-1960. That really distills it into perspective for me. We must be present in every moment, cherish the good times, and go for our dreams because it could all be over within a blink of an eye.

I always love watching movies from the 70s-00s. While I did not live to experience those years it is always fun to see how different the world was from today. Flip phones, different fashion, different cars, different people, different slang and so on. Sadly the world changed quite drastically in those years but as long as those movies exist I can see that things were not as shitty as they are now. I know a lot of people say that they want to go back and relive the good ole times, but I really do wish to go back and live in those days. I'm not saying the world is bad, but it seemed way better in those times when compared to today.
Nope there was cellphones in the late 90s and 2000s. They were just flip phones, you used em to text all your friends where u were gonna meet or in school but now people LIVE on their phones. They talk in real life about when and where they’ll be on their phone 😂

Some of my buddys from school that we used to skate together - also returned to the board. It's so cool. No rivalry, no competition, no judging, just satisfaction. Pure skateboarding.

RUclips just recommended this but I'm totally thankful. 2000's were a really nice time to live the adolescence
Can’t believe early 2000’s is considered historic footage already.
1995 to 2000 was my skate and rave days. (15-20 years old). Happy days.
After 9/11 things turned to shit real fast.
Now it seems every few years things get exponentially worse.
Welcome to the laaaaaand of tomorrow~~~!!!
Every day things get worse now.
Same age...i agree but at the same time we saw the best of everything considered nostalgic nowadays in its unladen form...

Seems to have been a social shift in the mid-2000s. I've always felt about that specific time period that looking back. Undoubtedly the internet becoming a part of regular, daily life with the introduction of smartphones and its spread among the masses, affecting the development of a whole generation, for better or worse.
What I find even more interesting is how humanity happened to reach such an advanced point around the turn of a millennium.

it is so cool to know that skateboarding havent really changed since then and it still has the same vibe, such a timeless thing
