As someone who's played a lot of Draken, this is a good guide for new players. One thing that I found that helped me keep my energy up while still stock was to use the airbrake, as it doesn't slow you down by all that much but limits how much you can deflect the elevator/aeliron things, therefore preventing you from accidentally dumping all your speed in a gentle turn. Also, on the ripping part: Sometimes the plane just randomly decides to rip in gentle manuvers. I've had it rip on me sometimes when I do something I do at least 10 times a game with no issues.

I just got this plane. I spent what little golden eagles I had on research, but I couldn't get to the rb24j. Its a tough grind in this plane without missiles. Especially when you are always facing either a team of 21bis or 4E and EJs.
From grinding the MiG-21bis, FGR.2 and F4EJ, the best thing to do is to get a talisman on these jets. The research goes really quickly and you can use them to research future jets fast.
@@roadhigher unfortunately, I don't have any GE left and can't buy any more right now. By the time I do get more, it wouldn't be worth it. I might consider boosting up to the missiles once I unlock the 4E. (I only have the 4c, but haven't bought it yet, don't plan on using it at all)
@@deadlybladesmith3093 use air assault arcade to spade any plane that's too hard to spade in regular games. Or unlock the missiles for your draken. I do that with all air fighters that have a tough stock grind. F8F-9 is a good example or mig9
@@elawaids2888 no if a vehicle has a terrible stock grind I will use it over the course of a few days for the daily air assault chest. Not specifically grind it in air assault. Usually to unlock the first performance upgrade. Or better missiles etc

Aim9J rocket fuel burns out after 1.5-2km, so if you're over 2km go straight then turning after it expels it's fuel then it pulls way less G's Edit: same shit with the R-60's too

I have the F-4E, MiG-21Bis, and Draken. Draken is always the most fun to me. As long as you know how to control it, it can stomp everything else at top tier.
just saying it rn if you dont mind war thunder says that the RB24J is an aim9j but the rb24j is an aim9p3 designated for the swedish air force so the draken actually got aim 9j (rb24) before the aim9p3 its just war thunder making the classic control+c control+v

Your playstyle on this video resembles of mine ROCAF F-104G. Speed clapping and prepare another turn far from enemies, but the difference is you confront the enemies eariler and let them know your plane is near. Kinda support fighter but not actually.
Delta wing planes need altitude to store energy and accelerate faster (with gravity assist). Yeah, no need to go stratospheric but a good amount of altitude is always welcome ! The lack of RWR, it's like the Mirage ! You really need to learn were to go and not to go when you take some altitude ! Never had a single problem with the Mirage side climbing, reducing the thirst of the engine at full PC, i'm just being extra aware and stay of "known" F4E climbing paths
You said multiple times that you don't enjoy top tier and don't play outside the videos, but what about the more "OG" lower jets like Meteors, MiG15s, sabres, etc? Or maybe something a bit more original like the VB10, spit mk47, c205n? just some ideas you know

I have bought it when added. I would not buy it anymore. Yes, you can clean up slow enemies with the sraams, but in every other situation you loose. In full downtiers it still gets you kills, but that does not make it worth buying it

The darken might not be the best fighter ever, but good God is it sexy. That's strange, the Aim-9J definitely should be able to lockon to props, after all the original Aim-9's were tested on converter F4F wildcat drones.

I use it at the start of the match because you can spot dots from further away.
I just keybind all the radar controls to the numpad. It is much quicker than the multi function menu. Not using radar is useful situationally.

People still head on A-7s so I wouldn’t expect any less.
Good rule of thumb is to never go head on against a plane you know you can outmaneuver. BnZ for the rest.
