Actually, so called, plastic plumbing is made of PVC and is resistant to boiling water, Baking soda and Vinegar. But metal plumbing is more prone to damage - reason being: both soda and vinegar are caustic and will corrode metal fast. Almost all sink plumbing has a one foot steel looking tube right below it. It is not really steel and will corrode very fast. In fact this piece is the one that mostly start leaking and need replacement often. In short both soda and vinegar will corrode metal plumbing and so it is better not to leave the soda and vinegar over mix over half hour !!!
Katrina Brady I'm not from HomeVeda. But the only cleaners I've in my apartment are Baking Soda + Vinegar ! Whilte Vinegar is best, you can buy a one liter bottle for one dollar at 'DollarTree', WalMart etc.
Isn't salt water sodium hydroxide? You said its harmful. Also salt kills the bacteria... Its what you use to kill bacteria to tan hides and fur. The baking soda method works good
