For people saying this is weird: I just auditioned into a US military band and did a tour with them during the week of D-Day where we played Star Wars and other American pop tunes for audiences along with patriotic marches and hymns. There's not necessarily a drastic reason, it's just to create patriotic spirit and bring the joy of music to people :) Most countries' military have bands. Good military bands are a sign of military strength and power. It's a symbol, like having a clean flag on a flagpole instead of a dirty, tattered flag. So I'm proud to be part of a country with EXCELLENT bands
