  • Qatar has passed a law to allow some of the foreigners who make up most of its population to get permanent residency.
The draft law will allow residence to the children of Qatari women married to non-Qataris, and to some expatriates.
The status would be the first of its kind in the Gulf region.

@@adagio7635 All GCC countries adopt jus sanguinis (law of the blood), not jus soli (law of the land). As Qatar and other GCC countries were meant to represent a indigenous ethnic group. It's not a settler country. Someone who want to be the citizen of a GCC country should have father from that country. Let's say, if you to be Qatari, you should have Qatari father, any citizen would be considered as Qatari if they have settled in Qatar since before the creation of the State of Qatar or if they have Qatari father. Same condition for the other GCC countries

For the ignorant people who are stating false facts about Qatar. Qatar is not giving out it's nationality to people nor anyone it's for Qatar's, we are simply giving out a card that they will give to people rights to own a house and etc, not a passport never! open your ears, please. I don't advice qataris to give citizenship to others already 80% Of the populations not qatari nationals they can easily loose their identity,
