Thank you for your answer about sand flies and thank you for the processionary caterpillars reminder. We have to be so vigilant to protect our precious furry pups ❤ 🐾 x
Hi to you both, enjoyed your Q&A. Particularly agreed with you regarding the C&MC answer you gave! We too have paid extortionate pitch prices on top of membership fee! Sites are always beautifully clean and well looked after but far too expensive! So we too are considering leaving! We love your vlogs and really look forward to them. Keep up the good work!🥰 Deb & Bri. Xx
I was very very shocked at the prices of English sites. Especially C&MC sites. yes they are clean and well maintained but no site is worth 35 to 37 Pounds for one night especially with no water or drain. That works out at 40.93 to 43.27 euros. Sites in Europe are in the 20 to 25 euro bracket at the very outside 30 euros
Loved your comment about the CAMC 😂😂. Totally agree. They have a cheek to call it a club when it's actually just a business. As an older couple, we do use CCC occasionally as they give 25% discount to over 60's. They also run brilliant temporary holiday sites which can work out very cheap
It is not just the caterpillars to watch out for on your travels, but ticks in the long grass and even if your dog has been treated with a spot on like my dog was, they can still be bitten and suffer tick fever that can be life threatening. If infected your dog will most likely go off food, start having lack of coordination on rear legs when walking, breathing issues, fever and suffer petit mal seizures, your dog has very limited time to get to a vet and receive treatment. I was lucky and found the tick which could be identified as a dangerous one [normally brownish in colour], it only took mins for my dog to suffer a fever and a seizure. so important to check your dogs fur after walks in open grass areas.
Good morning and absolutely spot on advice ❤️🐩🐩🐾🐾 although we use seresto collars on our dogs ( anti flea / tick ) we found a tick on Dolly’s nose after our previous visit , it was a vet visit and treatment due to a slight infection 👍👍 very good advice , Thankyou for sharing xx
Hey guys 👋 really interesting Q&A, some great tips in there... didn't know you could used UK LidL card, that's brilliant and good thinking about Motorhome Depot, we love ours and not looking to sell but we think when the time comes that it is a really good option. Thanks for another fab vlog ❤💕
Thanks guys ! Yes we didn’t regret going private with both buying and selling , and the Lidl is pretty good isn’t it ! Thanks for watching and commenting xx much appreciated ❤️❤️
I've cancelled my Caravan & Motorhome Club membership for the same reasons, they are out to maximise their profits. my biggest gripe is they have a basic pitch fee based on one person in the unit (caravan or motorhome) then put an additional charge for a second person. I could understand a small charge, but its normally £11-70 which is crazy, there's no way my wife would cause £11-70 worth of extra fees, she only uses the shower and toilet in our van. So we have to pay £11-70 for a couple of gallons of water and a bit more waste to dump! then of course there's a charge for an awning, dogs and anything else they can think of. Of course they can easily get away with it on the very popular sites because of the demand, but if you want to get on one of these sites they are normally fully booked months in advance. Whereas so private sites offer facilities and views etc every bit as good, but at more reasonable cost and less hidden add ons.
Spot on Charles, it’s about profit , and adding little extras , it’s not for us , we love Europe because of what it offers, and hope more independent sites pop up in the uk for some much needed competition ❤️
On CMC membership totally agree about sites and have never stayed at one, but I continue my membership as I book at least six ferry or tunnel trips a year and the discount on booking through the club exceeds the annual membership. While I am still in pocket I will keep my membership Geoff
As you have said, the caterpillars are not just in the more Southern areas. We saw more caterpillar nests along the A63 in the Bordeaux area than we saw in Portugal. Problem is, many of the places to stop have pine trees close by.
Is it just at this time of the year? Jan-March? Is there a map to check on the location? It’s making me quite concerned. As you know we get our van on March 1st and we have two spaniels. They are both hunting dogs and I know it’s going to be a problem for us.
@user-js6eb6dy1s Hi Jacky ❤️ I’ve attached a link which gives a good overview of the caterpillars, it’s just about staying alert and mindful of where you let the dogs roam , don’t let it put you off , it’s just part of travelling xx , they are in the uk too ! 🥰🐾🐾www.healthplanspain.com/blog/expat-tips/1027-pine-processionary-caterpillars-spain.html
Thank you so much. I will take a look. It’s a worry with them being such fast, busy dogs. I avoid areas with adders in England so I guess it’s just a question of being informed and careful as you say.
We went to Spain in September 2022 for 6 weeks and it was exactly the same for sites being busy, relatives who had been going for years couldn’t believe how busy it was. I wonder if it’s more people retiring early ?
Great video both😊 Fully agree about the CAMC. Total waste of money. Even willing to pay the extortionate prices you can't even get booked on the sites half the time! Still members of CCC because the rallys are cheap and sometimes fun 😊 Safe travels back xx
If you join the CAMC at the NEC shows you get two nights free. So, we’ve cancelled every couple of years and then rejoined when we’ve gone to the shows so it’s worked out fine. But yes prices have gone up and there aren’t many advantages now. Almost never use CLs as they tend to be on farms and a bit ‘middle of nowhere’ which isn’t great when we don’t have any transport once we’ve pitched up. CAMH do also have a few really well located sites such as York and Broadway and for a couple of nights in premium locations worth the money. But the same charges for massive sights next to main roads and nowhere in particular to visit, no.
As a pretty confident auto engineer, I've used Motorhome Depot, and they were fine. They were open and above board about the issues. Sure, there was no guarantee, but the checks I carried out took hours (to the point where I think the dealer was getting p'ed off.) I would say that, if they don't let you do this, walk away.
I always said I would only bye from a dealer after hundreds of miles looking at different motor homes we bought privately. Best thing we ever did. After 8 years I think we would only loose 2/3 grand
Hi Peter ! We are big fans of allpowers, it comes down to what you want really, we’ve reviewed 2 of there power banks , each one suiting different needs, have a look back and you’ll see the capabilities of each one, we also have folding solar panels so we can lay them out and chase the sun to recharge our power banks, we also have 2 fixed solar panels on the roof for our main batteries 🙂 hope that helps 🙂🙂
Hi can you save this question for when you do your pet passport blog? Do you have to take your pet into the pet reception at the border or can you just take the paperwork? Only asking as my dog refuses to go through a door unless she is carried and as she is 30kg I would like to avoid this lol.
Hi ! We will add it to the vlog ❤️❤️ but , if on a ferry , the dogs don’t leave the van , they pass the scanner to you for the microchip , the train .. yes you’ve got to go into the doggy reception, we shall be doing that one soon , but thought you might like a quick answer so you can let your dog know the good news xx 💖🐾🐾
Hi there ❤️ we did a vlog a little while back when we went to a weighbridge 🙂 it gives our look at the van we have , although it’s an A class , it’s under 3.5 t , so the payload is in all honesty very poor , that’s the compromise of any sub 3.5t vehicle , we can uplate to gain over 200 kg , larger A classes over 3.5t have a huge payload , coach built im not sure sorry , but for certain the Big A classes have huge payloads , but less mpg and a hgv licence if you don’t have one already 🙂🙂
I have comparatively low payload on my Tracker, it came with a butch towbar/hitch which looks heavy, and my mpg is usually in the region of 25, and I have a very gentle right foot. Let go of the Hgv last year, after 42 years (thought that was long enough!) But I can go up to 7.5t.
I saw our first of the season caterpillars yesterday here in France. They all start leaving their nests at carnival time, same every year here. Awful things for animals and humans. It's their spores that cause the problems.
We had our first motorhome back in 1986 (in them days people called them caravanettes) and in all them years we've never seen the need to join a club, why would any one want to pay to join then pay again to camp🤔, as for buying and selling i thought you gave sound advice but i love a deal lol, im the annoying person who will knock your door if you had something i wanted, where i buy or from whom don't matter to me, if the deal makes sense I'll make the deal, some i win and some i lose, i dont cry about it when it goes pear shape, i have a saying, at times you just have to let your eyes and ears be the judge, what would i save moho or stag, well i get the love red has for the stag, but the chances are whilst trying to save it the head gasket will fail and it will over heat anyway 😂😂😂😂, if i was ever in the position to save anything other than family, it would be photos as they are the window to your memories, anyway another enjoyable vlog keep them coming 👍
Afternoon Stephen ! 😂yes the stag never had a good reputation did it ! We all love a deal too don’t we 🙂 we’ve been lucky , you do hear some bad things too , but as you say if it makes sense it’s worth a punt ! Thanks for watching and sharing. Much appreciated ❤️
In Europe, you can easily find a service point , where it’s free to drop waste .. aires / stellplatz 🙂 , carry 2 cassettes for more capacity if required 🙂👍
I disagree with your attitude towards your comments on CAMC membership especially as you are travellers abroad. We can save around £50 at least every year travelling through the tunnel alone.
Yes , been married for over 30 years, Corrin gets swollen joints with arthritis , My old job didn’t allow jewellery to be worn, so I guess through habit and medical, they have stayed in the draw for quite some time xx .. and totally with you on the second bit 😂🤭
Unfortunate choice of phrase there Mrs Redders! ‘Farmers and tractors problems’. ‘Farmers’ being shorthand for Farmer Giles. “ you’re walking a bit funny Ed “. “Aye, problems with me farmers”. 😱😂🤦♂️
Hi guys totally disagree with your C&MHC comments especially if your travelling around the uk during winter as we do been totally ripped by private sites this season re all season pitches being mudfests and facility's being cold damp and crap got proper fleeced in Edinburgh at hogmanay. You get what you oay for with both c&cc and c&mhc which is top class facility's imo. Other than that still love your content some great info as usual 😂. Stay safe guys.
Good morning ! thanks for putting your side over with a nice friendly reply ❤️ of course there are 2 sides , and we appreciate your comments and your support 🥰 very much appreciated xx
Thanks, we haven’t actually added any filters at all? We look a bit washed out in this video as the light was behind us? We are perfectly happy for people to see us exactly as we are… overweight, middle aged wrinklies 😂😂
Great answer ref Caravan & Motorhome club, you sure didn’t mince your words! I agree wholeheartedly with you!

Hi there, we are totally with you with the Caravan and Motorhome Club…It’s getting ridiculous with prices…x
Hi Malc, it does seem to be getting a bit pricey , surprising how much profit they make in a year ! 😬
Totally agree about the clubs but we do have one for insurance and red pennant but we don’t use the sites, pricing many people out!
Thankyou ❤️ , yes they are, and if you look at the profits , it’s breathtaking.. thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 🙂
Thanks guys for answering my questions. Look forward to your next videos. Love your channel. ❤😊
You are very welcome and thank you so much for sending them to us ❤️❤️

Hi Geoff , some little perks , as long as it saves you , why not ! Thanks for sharing 🙂 much appreciated 👍
As you have said, the caterpillars are not just in the more Southern areas. We saw more caterpillar nests along the A63 in the Bordeaux area than we saw in Portugal. Problem is, many of the places to stop have pine trees close by.
It’s getting worse isn’t it ! Seems that they are reproducing and getting further afield 😬

Early retirement, post Covid freedom , along with a booming desire to travel 🙂 it sure is busy ❤️
Great video both😊

Morning Sean , good idea 👍 and we will 🙂

Spot on tommo , and if the seller won’t put a new mot and habcheck on it , that’s another reason to walk ! 👍
One day late watching the vlog busy Sunday 😆🍺⚽️ love the QA vlog great info for us all 😊❤️👍
😊thanks guys ! Much appreciated xx ❤️
I always said I would only bye from a dealer after hundreds of miles looking at different motor homes we bought privately. Best thing we ever did. After 8 years I think we would only loose 2/3 grand

Hi Guys - great video again - good to see you chilling 😂- Always good fun to watch 👍😀
🥰Thankyou ! ❤️ much appreciated xx
What power unit and solar unit would you Recommend
Hi Peter ! Hi do you have cameras in the motorhome?. Love watching you blogs. Brian crowe from Ireland
Hi Brian ! ❤️ yes we have blink cameras , 2 outside , 1 inside, motion and noise detection 🙂
Some excellent tips, i just need a motorhome now 😂
😂 that might be useful 😂👌
1st question. Did Paul get dressed in the dark? 😉
Always 😂
Husband had a Stag when I first met him. Spent most of our early days pushing the damn thing because it kept breaking down.
Hi Dawn ❤️😂 they weren’t very reliable back then, a bit better today with tlc , mines now 47 years old , but doing fine 💖
I'm considering getting an A class , how do you find both payload and fuel consumption, can you compare to a coachbuilt?
Cheers
Hi there ❤️ we did a vlog a little while back when we went to a weighbridge 🙂 it gives our look at the van we have , although it’s an A class , it’s under 3.5 t , so the payload is in all honesty very poor , that’s the compromise of any sub 3.5t vehicle , we can uplate to gain over 200 kg , larger A classes over 3.5t have a huge payload , coach built im not sure sorry , but for certain the Big A classes have huge payloads , but less mpg and a hgv licence if you don’t have one already 🙂🙂

@rogerramjet11 a lot of choice out there for sure 👌
If you are going Somport you must stop at Canfranc, there is an aire, , and go into the famous hotel that has been done up to a magnificent building.
Hi Robert ! Thanks for the info , much appreciated 🙂👍
I saw our first of the season caterpillars yesterday here in France. They all start leaving their nests at carnival time, same every year here. Awful things for animals and humans. It's their spores that cause the problems.
Hi Tanya 💖 thanks for sharing this, that’s quite early isn’t it , nasty little things 😬
Hi to you both, save the Motorhome as the Stag will over heat any way regards Peter
😂 well I can’t argue there ! Flushed the engine 2 years ago and yup, out came some casting sand ! Good ole British Leyland 😂

Don’t think your right there as far as I no they do not have share holders .😊😊
Yes , we stand corrected 👍👌 but wow , the turnover is phenomenal !
When you wild camp, how or where do you dispose the cassette toilet contents
