A January afternoon . In the last ten days we have had rain, gales , frost floods and fog but today the sun has been shining and for a couple of hours there was just a touch of spring in the air . All the birds were busy and in the old apple tree a Robin was singing . The sun is now setting and It’s just starting to get cold and snow is forecast. I fill up the hay racks for the sheep and carry a big basket of logs up to the house . Winter can be harsh , but somehow it is also a time of great beauty and can bring moments of both peace and excitement .
