      vanessa encarnacion,
      If you are producing an excessive amount of oil, I'll _try_ to help you (or anyone reading this interested?), with a few tips. I'm obsessed with skincare lol.
      The oil acts as a barrier to hold in moisture on your skin. If your skin is dry, dehydrated, no moisture....it will produce a lot of oil as an attempt to save/preserve what little moisture your skin has.
      I know our skin is not all the same, but I know the feel of having oily skin and large pores. You fear using full-coverage foundation and getting out in the heat, even when using a setting spray and having tried many primers that claim to reduce pores that the sun can offer.
      --- First and foremost: drink looooooots of water. Hydrate your body to help hydrate your skin. A lot of people I know who had oily skin simply weren't taking in enough water.
      --- Moisturize. Your skin needs hydration, even when it's oily. It's always good to keep your skin moisturized. Try to use a super light gel type of moisturizer if you can, but you don't want something heavy like a cream or thick lotion type on your face. Keep it light.
      -- You can also use an oil moisturizer that has a high percentage of *linoleic acid* in its ingredients since your skin is producing a lot of _oleic acid_ (which contributes to producing thick oil on your skin, as well as sebum and closed comedones for your pores).
      --- Less dairy and sugar (if you're like me and love coffee and candy). Don't have to quit or cut it all out, but less helps.
      --- Don't use harsh cleansers (like Neutrogena's Ultra Gentle Foaming cleanser). You don't want a cleanser that makes you feel squeaky clean when washing nor one that will feel tight when drying, which will produce even _more_ oil.
      --- Do not constantly wash. Try to keep it minimal, once or twice a day. Excessive washing brings excessive oil.
      --- Try some kaolin clay masks. Daily or at least every other day.
      --- Look into using Black African Soap, which is good for acne and oily skin.
      --- A lot of people do the *OCM* (Oil Cleansing Method). Oil to combat oil ... who knew, but it works somehow. If you are unsure what it is, Google around and read up on it as it's an interesting method, but it's
      also very costly and time-consuming. I've done this method before, and really liked it, but it's too much.
      -- If you have a dermatologist, ask about *Spironolactone* (which is usually only prescribed to women, though) or *Accutane*.
      Sometimes, unfortunately, people are just genetically born with really oily skin. :( BUT you can reduce it to where your skin is more of a "combination" mix by at least looking into a few of the things I mentioned above. I'm sure there are a ton of extra tips I'm forgetting, but just going for what's most commonly recommended.
      (also side note... a product I recommend for pores: *Innisfree No Sebum* - It's a Korean beauty product, but it works miracles on mine. In fact, look into many Korean beauty products. Their makeup and skincare line is quite different than popular US/UK based brands and ingredients, and they are more focused on healthy skin.)

    • @lisas7474
      @lisas7474 7 лет назад +23

      mine are about that big... or a tiny little bit bigger... when i do not have make up on, they're maybe not even noticeable for other people BUT when i have my foundation on and used the wrong primer or the beauty blender instead of a brush they literally look just like holes and like 3 times bigger than they naturally are.

      that was the case for me too until I tried the L'Oréal Magic Perfecting Base! Now, I'm not saying it covers them COMPLETELY, but it has worked so much better for me than all of the high end primers. Better than benefit pores no more, smash box pore minimizing and smoothing, better than the baby skin, all of them! I just put some on my middle finger and dab it a couple times to really get it in there and then very gently smooth the remaining amount over the area. I haven't tried this technique yet, but that stuff works the best for me. Hope this helped a little for you :)

I have very big and really deep pores, I understand the feeling when someone says they have ugly pores and I look at them and its nothing like mine. I feel like I have the worst skin. I'm afraid its going to clog my pores if I put so much face products.

      you need to use acid exfoliators maybe? not sure

    • @welcome2molliewood
      @welcome2molliewood 8 лет назад +15

      There are manual exfoliators, like ones that use beads to manually buff away dead skin.
      Whereas chemical/acid exfoliators use natural acids such AHAS like lactic and glycolic acid and also BHAs (salicylic acid) to break down the dead skin and they also penetrate deeper into the pores!
      Even though it has the word acid (which sounds scary), they are actually way better to use for your skin as manual/regular exfoliators can create microtears if scrubbing too hard. And generally chemical exfoliants create better results!

      I have combination to oily skin, large pores and breakout prone skin and I use these methods and find that they don't break me out. Two key things to remember though:
      1. Make sure all tools used (brushes, hands etc.) are very clean.
      2. Make sure to thoroughly cleanse and exfoliate the skin both before AND after makeup application.
      Increasing the number of times I exfoliate per week has done wonders to reduce the appearance of my pores. Also, make sure your skin care routine is all covered (cleanser, toner, serum, moisturzer, spf, etc.)

    I agree!!! When a person has oily skin, then hiding pores can be tricky and down right pulling your hair out difficult! I've always said what you have said about having oily skin. We are lucky because we do not show signs of aging as quickly as those who don't have oily skin; it's s double edge sword 😉. Oily skin needs moisturizing as well, so I moisturize regardless, and wear makeup when I'm working or going out. I can become an oil slick within an hour, makeup or not! The UD de-slick setting spray for oily skin helps. But, I will try the products, tips and tricks you've shown in this video, so thank you xx.

    Y'all should use NATURAL ALOE VERA. The real one. I put it in the fridge & I cut a little part everyday. I only apply it after I wash my skin. Then, I apply my usual facial cream after my yellow primer from MAC. Aloe Vera was the best solution for me. And once a week, do an "Aztec Healing Mask" mixed with "Apple Cider Vinegar". It will really reduce your pores. I prefer advise natural solutions to people. They really worked for me.

    Let me first say, thank you so much for this video! 💜 I work so hard on putting my makeup on, and then I could just cry, after I'm finished, because I can still see the pores and my makeup looks so caked on. I'm a hot mess! I'm so self-conscious of how look, I'm sure you can understand. Yes, I do have very oily skin, and my appearance is so important to me. I am 58 years old, so I have several issues, with my skin. I will be keeping an eye on more tips from you.

    gosh, why didnt i find this vid earlier? Your advices are actually life changing. Yesterday I have bought the NYX pore filler primer, and honestly I was rather skeptical but pretty desperate. I have lotsa pores around my T-zone and i get oily so easily. Never thought that you have to actually push the primer and setting powder into the pores in order to get the job done. I swear, been walking around with a full make up all day now and my skin looks flawless, no creases, pores are barely visible 🥹✨✨ i never knew that this was actually possible for me! thank you so much

      I have oily-combo skin with some enlarged pores and I do full make-up 5+ days a week (I work for Clinique). I use primers, full coverage foundation, maybe some concealer, plus cheeks, brows, eyes, and setting spray. In addition to finding make-up that works for my skin type, I also have to make sure my skin care routine is on point. That's how I avoid getting break outs. I use make-up wipes to take the bulk of my make-up off, maybe use micellar water on cotton to get the rest off, and then use an oily skin cleanser to wash my face. After that it's an exfoliating clarifying lotion (that's what Clinique calls it's "toner"), any serums I am using, and a gel based moisturizer. I also take my make-up off right when I get home so it can breathe, and wash my face before putting make-up on. I used to be miffed by the time I spent on my skin care, but now I look at it as my "me" time and as something enjoyable. Just gotta find the products that work for you!

      I started taking care of my HUUUGE pores a couple of years ago (im 28 now) i cleanse and scrub my face with products without perfume, u know gentle stuff with natural ingredients, and i also use a comedon extracter to get the deeper black and whiteheads out. Now i actually see an improvement, they seem smaller. They only get larger if they are clogged and not cleansed over a long period of time, U know, the older skin gets the more it looses the elasticity . (Sorry for my english) 😊🌸
