Do I have to code 1st and 2nd orders case per case or all together ? And should I analyse them case per case then regroup similarities in the discussion or differently ? thank you
The answer depends on your research question. The meaning of "Thematic analysis" can be understood in a couple of different ways, but I understand it to mean grounded theory without the theory. That is, you code your data with a hierarchical code structure but do not aim to build a theory with the concepts. I would go for full grounded theory (i.e. Gioia's approach) and not just thematic analysis. Use the same code stucture for each case, this is essential for Eisenhardt's approach because you need to compare the cases. Eisenhardt's approach iterates beteween within adn between case analysis. I always start with a within case analysis to try to understand what is going on in each case and them move to between case comparisons.

I think there are quite a few articles cited in the presentation. I suggest starting from these articles and the references therein. Reada the 2011 first and maybe a few references from there and then the 2022 article.
