I'm still bitter about what Jill Farren Phelps and Bob Guza did to the Quartermaine family. After Lila's death (because of Anna Lee's passing) the exit/death rate for the Q's increased. Order of exit/death: AJ (04-05), Brooklynn, Lois, & Ned (05), Justus (06), Alan & Emily (07), and then Jake (11). Thankfully, Jake's death has been rectified. I wish the same could be done with Emily.
Technically, the “exits” started when Guza de-Q’d Skye in 2003, especially since Anna Lee’s last episode was about a month or so after that if I’m not mistaken.
I really hate how patronising and sanctimonious Carly sounded laying down the 'ground rules'. As if she was the one doing them a favour when really it was her back against the wall because Michael had no other place to go. The quartermaines were a good family that were destroyed simply for the development of sonny/Carly/Jason and the mob activity on the show.
They were never "silly." Just quacky and quirky (to quote Alan) and funny as hell! This soap went into the toilet when they got too serious and turned it into a badly shot Sopranos. Back in the day, this show ROCKED when it was Alan and Monica, Edward, Tracy and Ned and crew on daily. Also, Edward has said many times, "everything IS based on greed!" Who the hell was writing the show when this was produced - they forgot its history.
@@isaiahhill2104 Guza was a good writer too. I agree that they gave Guza and that other writer (forget his name right now...Charles Pratt or something?) too much latitude in writing the mob around 2002 and on....BUT, it was really after Jason's accident and he became Sonny's protege in 1996 when the show started to go too far. In the 2000's - it was nearly unwatchable and certainly NOT General HOSPITAL any longer.
@@Ordinaryfool I can see your viewpoint. That was right around the time that the issues of the show began. Around 1998 was when things started to spiral, then a bigger spiral happens in 2001 (JFP/McTavish era), but then the show went off a cliff when Guza came back in 2002). You’re right, 2000s GH was a flop, but 2000 and probably 2001 were the last decent years of the show back then.
It certainly couldn't have done worse than covering up an act of heroism, Claudia's accidental death, which made it look like a murder by a mad man. It's like she's stating 'Do things my way or you will not be a part of Michael's life' to Sonny, Jason, the Quartermaines knowing full well how devoted they all are to Michael and using him a a reward for their obedience.
Right she's cynical but she doesn't sugarcoat. To be honest this the point where I started watching so I don't know any drama she cause like I don't know what all Carly did but I like both those characters because they don't hide their bad qualities.
yep sounds like it and they will do it or risk being squeezed even further out of his life thankfully those days seem to be over I've more of Michael around his Q family these last few months then perhaps the last decade or more.
Michael is going to be the new Jason but backwards. When Jason had that car accident with A.J. he went to work with Sonny and now with Michae's brian injury he is going to live at the Quartermaines and thats why I think he is going to become the new Jason.
Hershey Kisses ok. You want me to give you an example I will. The first example you remember what she did to the quartermines and she never let them see him and until now. The reasoning being is that she thought they were to dangerous, but like at the life she and sonny led and that led to kidnappings, coma, and rape in jail. He would have been with the quartermines that wouldn't happen.
shaquana hyatt First of all wat AJ did he push Carly down the stairs when she was pregnant and Aj let everyone think that Michael was dead like come that my exclamation the Quartermaine's they not a Saint and they was trying to take micheal away from her
Hypocrites? Every last one of them had extramarital affairs. Most of them had addiction problems. Edward, Tracy, and Ned were all viscous in business. Edward admitted more than once that they broke the law regularly. They just hid it better. Several of them committed violent crimes. They lied, cheated, stole, and blackmailed to get what they wanted. And that was just against each other. Against outsiders they were deadly. The main difference between the Quartermaines and Sonny/Jason was the public perception of the Quartermaines as “good” people and Sonny/Jason as “bad” people. The Quartermaines brought hypocrisy to an art form.
You don't go to someone's home and give him orders if your son is to stay in their home. They should have kicked her out. Michael belongs in an institution not someone's home.
i just realized that Michael is a Spencer, Corinthos and Quartermaine! that's pretty damn kool!!
Sonny’s brilliant approach to parenting... your kids acts out, tells off his uncle, disrespects his mother... buy him a sports car
LMAO!
Its such a sad day, when "You're all here" in the Q Mansion is 3 people. It should be atleast 6!
I loved the Quartermaines and could love to see them again. Killing off Emily, AJ, and Alan was dumb.

I was glad to see Emily go.

true
absolutely

Guza was writing. When he returned in 2002, that was when it became all about the mob imo.

the Quartermaines always crack me up.
I'm not saying that carly is perfect but let's not forget the shit Monica did when she first came on the show.
There starting to bring back the Q's. It's about time.
never say a word against me,Sonny or Jason what's the matter Carly afraid Michael will learn the truth about you
lol
Damn, wish Michael had learned the truth about Carly. Somebody should have tried to tell him. Oh wait, someone did.
Funny she took Michael from the Q’s because of the infighting , but all her and Sonny did was fight and breakup!
Tracy almost sounds congested when she says 'the Quartermaine money'. That almost adds plenty to an already silly family.
Michael Quartermaine Corinthos CEO of ELQ in less than 10 years time. WOW !

Just add it to the list of reasons Carly sucks.
I love Tracy, so bitter I love it
same its hysterical

Tracy was always the only one in the family with a brain.
thats sad only 3 Q'S LEFT
Im starting to wish that Tracy stayed out of Port Charles, like how she did when Dillon was in town.
Oh now let's go to the Quartermaines after years of Michael will never be a Quartermaine blah blah blah and guess what He is one now thru and thru
Michael should have moved in with Jason
carly is such a hypocrite
shaquana hyatt she not a hypocrite so wtf you talking bout ms thang

Wow there a lot of people on here who hate Carly
Yeah because she's an evil bitch just like Bobbi
She is not perfect by any stretch, but for her to ask the Q's? Come on. Obviously she knows her priorities!
Danielle Burnett please let somebody take my child away from me & have some pet gangster raise him in a life of misery
Cassie Smith I'm driving that train.
AGREED!!!
You don't go to someone's home and give him orders if your son is to stay in their home. They should have kicked her out.
Michael belongs in an institution not someone's home.
Yep, same playbook from 1999, barging in like she owns the place and barking orders like a drill sergeant.
I haven't noticed it
It is sad
why cant michael live with jason?
I agree with Michael should have lived with Jason
Sonny is the worst 🤦🏽♀️
agreed
