    FAFSA says Im eligble for Pell grant now school says i am not when they have me signed an Offer Letter last week for 7395 this school year. Their reason was because my EFC/SAI is higher than my COA. In their offer letter it showed im eligible for $7395 Pell grant and thst my COA IS $13131. My EFC was zero and SAP is qualified ot satisfactory.

    Do you have to sign up for all of your classes at the same time? I want to do full time, but I can only sign up for 2 classes right now. I am in the middle of getting permission from 2 professors(both of their classes are full) to make an exception. That process may take a couple of days. After I obtain written permission from both, I can register for those 2 extra classes, which would bring me to 12 credits. I just hope that waiting on those two classes doesn't knock my pell grant amount down, especially because now my school is past the payment day.

      yes, you can.. don't let anyone tell you that you can't. I was homeschooled and never got any diploma or GED .. I just said I had completed high school. Simple as that. They don't have the time or resources to go hunt down every person's diploma or GED. And honestly, even if they said you need one of the two I would just hop into photoshop and make up a GED real quick. But like I said I got into college just fine without either of them and I qualified and got pell grants multiple times. IF they ask just say you were a "Dual enrolled homeschool student" and you finished Highschool but since you, were homeschooled you never got any certificate... don't let that ridiculous idea stop you from getting the education you want. The idea that you would need to prove you did HS to go to college is lunacy. You are paying for college so if you can't pass then it's your money and time .. not the schools, plus the school will gladly take your money they don't care if you didn't go to school ever before. I mean how do you think all us homeschooled kids get into college? about 60% of us never got any actual diploma or GED we just did the required classes

      @@Thecollegeinvestor I’m looking for aid to purchase a laptop. Why can’t the pell grant cover the cost of “school supplies”?

    • @Thecollegeinvestor
      @Thecollegeinvestor  Год назад

      It can if the cost of attendance covers it. And in that case, what happens is all the money goes to the school, and they refund you the excess. You can then use that to purchase supplies. You need to speak with the financial aid office about what the cost of attendance is and what the aid is covering.

    Do pell grants go directly to the College or Do we get it first and then have to pay with the allotted money that we received?

    • @Thecollegeinvestor

      They go directly to the college's financial aid office. Any extra is refunded to you via your school.

    I got a email from my fafsa and it said my pell grant estimate is 6k. Does that mean fafsa will give me 6k for college or is that a different thing?

    I have a letter from Fafsa.Gov stating "Based on your EFC of 0, you may be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant of up to $6,345 for the 2021-2022 school year provided you have not met or exceeded the lifetime limit established for the Federal Pell Grant program." How do I apply to receive the grant?

    • @Thecollegeinvestor
      @Thecollegeinvestor  3 года назад

      When you are enrolled in college, your schools financial aid office will see if you are eligible and process it. The funds are paid directly to the school.

      The US government is who is technically giving you the grant. However, it will be offered to you via your schools financial aid office.

      Grants are FREE and you don't have to repay them; however, loans will need to be repaid. So the question now is what kind of aid did you apply for? Grants or Loans? If you think you qualify for a Pell Grant; I'd go back and review the video and revise your aid application if you can. BTW, I'm not a member of the College Investor Team. I'm just offering a reply to your question based on what I know.

    It's FAFSA, not FASFA.
