Imagine a 'forced' (literally!!) marriage in the western world in 2011. It was criminal to confiscate her passport and give her no option. Whew! God bless her. Albert looks as if he couldn't care less how she feels. She's royalty now and that means.....No Feelings Dear. At least, not in public.

Remember watching some of the wedding & thinking how terrible sad she looked. Knew something was up but didn't realize just how miserable she was or how badly she wanted to leave until afterwards. Sad indeed!
This was my exact reaction with Princess Diana! I was so young when she married.. I just remembered seeing her on tv and thinking she was so beautiful under all that fluff but feeling confused at my own feelings of sadness for her. I thought “surely she is happy because she’s marrying her Prince Charming!” and sort of brushed off my own intuition. It would be years before I learned of the turmoil and drama running behind the scenes and now when I see the footage of that day, I feel so sad too. It’s crazy that things like this happen 💔
I honestly thought Diana was perhaps the saddest bride but I think this takes the cake... a bride is supposed to radiate on her wedding day and all you see is pain. I also have to say the groom looks cold and calculated like he would just as soon kill her. Charles showed more feeling than this man

Wow. I’ve been watching alot of royal weddings since I’ve always been fascinated by royal families and monarchies from a historical perspective and she has to be the saddest bride. The fact he didn’t even comfort her when she was crying and instead looked embarrassed was disappointing. The song is beautiful though.

Anyone with a strong intuition/empathy will know that this is pure sadness and the song just made it worse for her. Poor woman, arranged marriages aren't for everyone.
This isn't an arranged marriage. Who should have arranged it? They have been a couple about 6 years before they decided to marry. But the tragic is that you never only marry the man you also marry his situation, his family, his world. She knew what that world means: celebrities with plastic surgery till they look like masks, burning bank notes for fun, focus on sex, splurging everything, snobs, dandies and narcisstic women. Not a nice world she came into. But she took the risk because she loves Albert. We'll see how this goes on, she doesn't look happy somehow...

If you are happy to be marrying someone you can't take your eyes off them... La chanson est magnifique, et prouve qu'un Prince et une Princesse ne sont que créatures, heureuse de s'aimer. Je trouve débile que l'on tire à boulets rouges sur des gens qui assument une fonction princière. Ils ne l'ont pas choisie : c'est leur job. Donc ne soyons pas lâche, ni people. A Monaco, il y a sûrement des pauvres, des laissez-pour-compte. Un couple princier heureux est un bonheur pour l'Europe, même si ça fait ringard. Et puis, nul d'entre nous ne connaît leur quotidien.
I don't believe she was unhappy. They were actually married the day before in a Civil Ceremony . This video shows the Catholic Ceremony the day after. When I got married my emotions went into overdrive which totally shocked me. I couldn't even repeat the words the priest said as I was crying so much. The priest literally said them for me. I remember my husband didn't appear to be impressed with my outburst of emotion. To this day I cannot tell you why I was so emotional. I could pose lots of excuses; none of which should have turned me into a blubbering mess. However, it didn't make a difference as we live in a very happy marriage and will be celebrating our 40 year anniversary in November 2020.
