G87 is already mile ahead of the older m2 competition. However most will like what they have because of time spent owning it already. That wasn't the case for me , i liked the g87 m2 once i saw it in person and choose it instead of the m3 and after 5 months still smiling during every drive.
I don’t disagree. I do say in the video that it feels next gen, more composed and smooth. I also think it would be amazing on track. But I tend to like cars that have a raw feeling to them, more aggressive driving style, which is why I like mine better. I didn’t mention it but the steering also feels less tight on the G87. Didn’t get to take it in the canyons so hard to say if that would impact driving precision.

I'm the biggest BMW fanboy. But I strongly dislike this new M2 lol. I seen this thing on the street, I almost got jump scared. 🤣 It does look maybe slightly decent lowered with some nice wheels. But still, I couldn't do it. I rather get the older M2 (which loooks super sweet btw), or the newer M3. Great video, love the comparison video. I'm the same way with manual cars, will forever love them for sports cars. The sounds, the experience you get when you go for a pull and you're hitting gears. That experience is unmatched. ☺ Only way I could own this new M2, was if I aggressively modified the appearance. A crazy aggressive wheel and tire setup, a wild stance, maybe a big wing too. And just have it look very racecar-ish 😂
They have grown on me, but I understand that they are not everyone's favorite. To be fair, after the E and F gen, it's hard to do better on the looks! But we'll just get used to it ;)
Ive watched this a couple times, great review. I cant believe the f87 is a '21, looks so dated to me... the g87 is just so much better in every way. The g87 is so versatile in its styling potential where as the f87 is like a gas tesla, just bland, round and generic.
There's no doubt the G87 is a superior car in terms of performance and technology. But, in my opinion, it's hideous in comparison to the F87. There's more to owning a car than it's raw performance.
There isn't supposed to be a Competition model of the G87; the next variant is reportedly going to be a CS. Later down the road, they'll release an LCI.
I wonder how it would have looked on this one, yes. Interior is amazing, I definitely love it, especially these seats! Hopefully they release a Comp version before the CS
g87's cardinal sin is the weight. there is no excuse for bmw to build a sports car that heavy. and the 2750mm wheelbase is longer than a midsize sedan. i think bmw is tilting too far towards "luxury" these years. won't be looking their way for my next purchase.
Struggling with the glass dash…..ugh! …..and the way BMW built the gauge pack is terrible. Just give me round analog looking gauges. I do think the squared off look is cool…..very GT3 like. 😊

@@SarahNocchiYep. The G87 you drove had KW V3 also so probably feels even more raw than stock.
@SarahNocchi use the track setting and turn the traction control off or on the lowest level for some fun.

The white car looks and feels like a very nice car except the front grille is just all wrong same as alot of the new BMWs

Good video. Can you shift it faster into 2nd and 3rd than the F87? My transmission is notchy and can’t really be rushed into 2nd or 3rd.
My F87 also struggled shifting to second sometimes under load.
Try removing the cdv if you haven't already, makes a big difference!

Yes I have heard that too, but there is nothing official yet. I am still hoping they release a 6MT M2C.
Thing is there mostly like will be a comp there’s rumour of a an Xdrive version coming with over 500hp perfect car to use the comp designation for..
I wish they would have used the styling of the m4 with the big front grill. Interior looks great. Will be nice to see the competition version
