i finally got it after hours and many guides! thanks for your help. Instead of doing the first grenade jump I just put on acrophobia scull and flew making sure to change the game versions at the same time and punch. did the same thing as you stopped punching when I jumped over sniper ally then did the grenade jump. Didnt get the checkpoint when I landed down on the skull building but when I looked inside I just changed the game mode a couple times and it showed up.
Tried a thousand different guides ones with 7 checkpoints 8, did it about 50 times each no avail and I come across your gem try it once and I got it!! Thank you!!!
Thanks this helped a lot! The part I didn’t do however, was the second grenade jump. I just stayed on the rooftop and went diagonal left facing where I spawned in the jackals (like in the video). I ran through, then turner towards the area with the skull and sniper. When I got there, the skull was there and teleported me to the ground, and I was instantly killed by a white elite with a melee attack. Then the achievement came up with me getting the skull. Good luck to you all, this took me a while!
I had trouble getting either of the 2 checkpoints (even if the 1st was not necessary) to work. Then I made sure to stop meleeing at exactly the point you did, and walk across the roofs instead of jumping over them entirely. Got the two checkpoints and immediately got the skull. Thanks!
You're correct that the first checkpoint (1:03) you mention isn't needed, but the second checkpoint (1:19) doesn't actually spawn the skull. Bungie played a sneaky trick to make it look like the CP in skull room/balcony area was making it spawn. Triggering Sniper Alley is the only item needed to spawn the skull and the 1 in 7 spawn chance is also set up here.
@Maria Flores I've never read the code, thanks for the info, much appreciated! The trigger box (Sniper/Jackal Alley) and the CP are obviously paired together but if you melee/fight here so the CP doesn't show up, the skull still has a 1 in 8 chance, therefore eliminating any CP theories. From the silly amount of testing I've done, the skull turns up 1 in 5 playthroughs.
@Maria Flores Well, if you know what you're doing (obviously, you do) you can trigger the music early and still get skull, if I recall correctly. To debunk any CP theories, start with Black Eye skull, take health right down, trigger the box and run to skull room. I've read people spending too many hours and no luck, which also leads me to believe they're not following the instructions correctly. Considering it's fairly easy to do, I think some are trying Grumpy's 'Force Spawn' method but are going wrong somewhere? Plenty of misinformation (crouch method on roof, kill so many snipers, etc) out there but if people get the skull, then technically they've done it right no matter what they did on route. Still, it can be confusing for some who only want the achievement.
@Maria Flores Most (including me) don't bother with dev tools. In the early days of YT, some old games like H2 and CE would have 1m+ views on how to make certain things work. I suppose, some people are misremembering how older techniques worked or may have been updated since then and it's all a big mess. I'm surprised how many still believe the 7 CP (3, 4 or 6 CP) theory is a good method, just because it worked for them in a few attempts, they seem to think it's the best route w/o checking a simpler method. Whoever came up with crouch on the roof route is just trolling anyone who tries it. As for the CP in the skull room, I think Bungie may have invented trolling right there lol and yes, I fell for it the first time I did the save and quit.
@Maria Flores Cool, from your code reading, you know the game better than me, but I can only go by what I see, feel and experience on screen. Makes sense as they're all technically linked to one another, thanks. As gamers, we know how to manipulate the CPs (cancel or delay) to our advantage, so we can certainly enter the fight w/o the need for CPs. The reason that it feels like a Bungie troll, if we save and quit in the skull room, then enter the fight and die, we return to room and the skull won't be there, therefore making us do the whole 1 in 8 process again. Certainly feels like Bungie planned it that way or pure coincidence? More cool info, thanks! Have you seen my infinite CPs glitch on Outskirts vid? The game appears confused with the 28 elites for the Daddy fight, maybe there's a link that's causing the glitch?
@Maria Flores Yeah, I only play on H2 OG so I can't speak for MCC. Take a look at this infinite CPs vid and leave any comments there if you have any theories, thanks studio.ruclips.net/user/videoy_wLK7sCq1A/edit
Took about 50 tries, mostly because of failed grenade jumps... You don't need to change graphics so much, just focus on making sure that last checkpoint happens above the skull spawn.
I can not get this skull to spawn. I have tried so many times and I follow everything to the tee. Everything happens the way it should but never a skull spawns. Please help
I’m sorry I haven’t played this halo for a while now, I’m addicted to INFINITE. So I can’t help you as I wish I would. Have you switched the games version to classic and new.
I simply ran to the building, but the thing that actually triggers the skull to spawn is shining your flashlight on the ground where the skull should be. I tried this while collecting all or none of the checkpoints and everything in between and it never spawned till I used my flashlight
@@jonathanmorgenstern3213 I tried it. It seemed to work, or it was gonna show up anyway. I can't tell cuz it was too dark to see. I finally got it around 12am. Lol
@@jonathanmorgenstern3213 I can verify flashlight does not work, or at least now it doesn’t. Im fairly certain you both were just lucky that time. Congrats either way tho! This is the last skull I need then I got em all!
I just made it finally lol after 100 attempts or more with this technique i got it by stopping melee right after the jackles spawn, then I got the last checkpoint near to the skull
There is no way to get it to spawn 100% of the time. This title is a clickbait lie.. in the halo 2 code script, the contingencies are Solo, legendary and a random number generator giving you a 1 in 7 chance of allowing the skull to spawn. This random number generator only starts if you trigger the sniper alley zone. You can help your chances by repeatedly meleeing, creating a “forced spawn” scenario only AFTER you trigger the sniper alley. Still won’t work 100% of the time. It’s all chance.

Nice method but not necessary My method works every single time i tried 146 times and different ways I learned how to fail 117 times and have been tryin For years to make a way that works every time. message me or leave a comment and I can send my game clips via email or Xbox I don’t make videos. 3years later and I still works thanks! Second try bc I messed up the first lol
Thanks a bunch. It's so satisfying finally obtaining this skull!
So frustrating to do, but you had all the information there and it worked. So, thank you very much.
1st time 🔥 Thanks a lot!!!!
