Hello Mike and Nancy, WOW, so so happy for you 2... the beautiful underwater life is just magnificent...Mike I'm really happy that you had your dream come true 👍🏻 ❤️...Nancy the dress that you had on looked so good on you with the great sun tan you have...and both of you just glow....seriously you look younger every day ...so happy for you ☺️ 🙂 ❤❤
As an Aussie, it was wonderful to see our beautiful land through your eyes. I am still loving every day of this cruise. Thank you both so much for sharing it with me, once again. 💖💖
Hi I’m a Cairns local. So glad you enjoyed our region. Absolutely loving your channel. You’re a engaging couple. Look forward to the rest of your journey.
I’m not sure if our Barrier Reef lived up to your expectations ? But glad you got to experience it. Love your channel and you have inspired me to do this cruise when I retire one day ! ❤
I have a young lady about to go for 6 months working on a ship. So have shown her your video on packing as she will be in a shared cabin with a crew member You have given me great ideas
I commented on your Newcastle port video (where I live). I’m so glad you got to finally snorkel! The weather is beautiful and the ocean up there feels like a warm bath in summer. I did a cruise around 2015, and got to snorkel and touch 3 green sea turtles! I now know I should haha but I didn’t at the time. This was at Green Island. Apparently the guided tours couldn’t find anyway but I swam alone around the side of the island in a wetsuit pretending the jelly fish didn’t exist haha. I got to scuba dive in Vanuatu and experience some reef from over there also, but it was a shame to see how much the reef had been bleached. It’s like a different world under there though and certainly was a life-changing experience! We saw a Dugong in Vanuatu and the guides had never seen one before. I wish I was allowed my GoPro during that dive but that’s okay. Thank you for discussing safe sunscreen for the reef! It’s pricey but worth it. As a teacher I invest in the really expensive SPF50+ sunscreen that’s safe for the ocean as I swim in Newcastle Baths during the summer, and it usually costs me about $60.
🤣🤣🤣 Yes she did, but you know she really did a great job snorkeling, even as she was worried about the jellyfish. 🪼🪼🪼 We miss you and love you all! ❤️❤️🥰❤️❤️
Hi Nancy and Mike! I met you on the Japan-Vietnam-Singapore leg. You two are as sweet on the video as you are in person. I even saw you two holding hands on the ship! Love you both!
I was supposed to be doing this excursion in December 2023 but that was when the Cyclone came in so we went to South Australia instead. I am so glad to hear that the area has recovered as well as it has. I was on the Viking Orion from Bangkok to Sydney in November/Dec 2024 and we too used the excursion boats that picked us up from the ship instead of having to use a tender boat. It is a great plan. I didn't do your snorkeling/diving excursion then, because I had planned to do it on my RCL trip 4 days after the Viking trip, but the Cyclone had other plans for us.
Cyclones can definitely change plans. A cyclone kept us from stopping in Madagascar, and Ledingue Seashells. On a cruise we just have to go with the flow.
I just discovered your channel, and I’ve loved watching your adventures! I’m an elementary teacher and one of my 2nd graders told me about the box jellyfish being the deadliest variety! 😬 Now I can tell him about the special sting suits! 😊
Another great video - albeit 7 weeks after the event 😂. I am from the UK and have visited Jersey several times so was amazed to hear about the member of the crew from Jersey 😮. It is a beautiful place. If you ever visit the UK or France I would highly recommend a visit to Jersey and the rest of the Channel Islands.
Hi Mike and Nancy. I’m glad my god live out his dream of snorkelling are so scuba diving on the great barrier reef. I’m glad you had those stinger suits because I know there’s lots of things in the ocean in Australia that are deadly. Did your naturalist talk about the IRIKANJI sorry not sure about the spelling. It’s another jellyfish probably about the size of your baby fingernail that is really deadly. Enjoying all your great videos, but I remember you saying that you rather enjoy your time on the cruise and sitting and edit your videos. So I was surprised to hear that it was St. Patrick’s Day and I am watching this at end of May.
Thanks for watching and following along. Yes, they talked about all the different jellyfish, 😲 and that's why we wore the Stinger suits. As far as your question about editing the videos, well, of course, we prefer touring and having fun in port, but we really don't mind editing the videos. If we did or if this ever becomes real work, then we won't do it. 😃 For us, this is our video scrapbook of this once in a lifetime Adventure.
I snorkeled on the great barrier reef in 2019 and it was one of the highlights of my life! I’m so thrilled that you got to cross this off your bucket list :-). You both look so great!
You both look so nice this morning! When I was teaching i took the kids out on an excursion boat to see all the marine life with an accompanying biologist. Wonderful for my kids who had never even seen the ocean before. Thank you Dana Point for the great donated field trips! Ok now your 2 months behind????
Yes we're a bit behind, and that's because we made a promise to ourselves not to allow putting up the videos to interfere with this once in a lifetime opportunity. So it does take us a bit to get them edited and then posted. But the few weeks buffer that gives us allows us to enjoy Port days and sea days. Thanks for understanding and we're really glad you're following along. 🥰 Glad you had such an amazing trip with your kids that's wonderful
We have a jellyfish season on the south shore of Long Island, usually in August, though the last 3 years or so, we haven't had any. We have had an increase in sharks, which I believe like to eat jellyfish.
Great vlog We went years back with Quicksilver from Cairns Also an incredible day No scuba But we were on the outer edge of the reef and one could see the big drop in depth Wide variety of fish Heli ride was available from a floating platform So we did that to
We were supposed to be able to do a helicopter ride but our trip ended up getting canceled due to bad weather. That was out of Airle Beach. So we ended up going out of Caitns.
Hi Mike and Nancy, wonderful that you were able to have this amazing experience! I was wondering, do you take excursions at every port? Thanks for taking us along!!
We don't necessarily take a organized Excursion we do a whole variety of things from just getting off and wondering on our own, to maybe having a private guide to full organized excursions. It just depends on what works best for each port
Hello- Loving your cruise. I appreciate your attention to the details to your adventure. My husband and i travel half the year ( no cruises ) and I soon forget the names of places we have been but soon remember and enjoy those places again with you! My question to you is when this world cruise is done, where and when will you travel next? Happy travels!
We've been talking a lot about that and have quite a few different ideas we keep going over. One of the big things we're going to do though is reconnect with family and grandkids first and spend time with them. So lots of trips to Texas to see our daughter. But as far as big trips were deciding that as we go. 😀
Great adventure! Love following along with your adventures. Mike, I noticed your 1st dive card was from Fort Collins, CO; I lived there from 1988 - 2018! CSU alum. Is that where you grew up? Beautiful city. TFS love following...
No Fort Collins was the home of scuba school's international, ssi. That's where the card was issued from. I actually got certified in Wichita Kansas so just a little east of you
Hi, I met a couple at Gatwick Airport last Friday who were on this Cruise for Two months and we were in our way to The USA From the UK and i mentioned that i follow you.. they said they recognised you both, but we are way behind where then cruise is real time..maybe we are watching this this channel a few weeks behind?? , i just presumed you uploaded every day.. Sorry if i am naive..Great content though..
Thanks for following along. Yes it's really not feasible for us to do long-form videos like these on a daily basis. Here's some more info as to why they're behind. But we sure do appreciate you following along. ruclips.net/user/shortsXiYd86HrnjU?feature=share
Cairns is a great place to set off from on the numerous day trips and activities in the area. If you have the opportunity you should go north to Port Douglas, a beautiful tourist town with many resorts ( American tourists seem to like it ). Have fun.
Am loving watching your adventures! I have a couple questions…how are you doing on you walking around the world journals? Are you still going to workout classes? And my most important how is the library? I am a huge reader!
We are all caught up on our walking around the world journals it's pretty easy for us to walk them at least the minimum each day. As far as workout classes we're not doing any classes but we do make it up to the gym on a regular basis especially when the weather outside is bad. The library is great lots of book options
Mike I have a question or 2. How are the corals? Are they healthy? I couldn't really tell. I know in some parts of the world the corals are in bad shape.
Overall, the coral looked good. Much better than in Barbados earlier this year, where they have Skittle-D and bleaching. However, because of all the recent storms, the water was a bit murky. But overall, it was a beautiful and wonderful experience
How much fun to see the Great Barrier Reef! I wish your videos could catch up a little in time. Being 2 whole months out of date really diminishes them. I only watch every so often anymore…
I like how Mike describes how things actually work, as some of the more mundane details are often not covered by youtubers. Things like the comparative cost of things, transport options, do’s and don’ts, etc. You make the series very watchable, congratulations.
Hello Mike and Nancy, WOW, so so happy for you 2... the beautiful underwater life is just magnificent...Mike I'm really happy that you had your dream come true 👍🏻 ❤️...Nancy the dress that you had on looked so good on you with the great sun tan you have...and both of you just glow....seriously you look younger every day ...so happy for you ☺️ 🙂 ❤❤
Thanks so much

As an Aussie, it was wonderful to see our beautiful land through your eyes. I am still loving every day of this cruise. Thank you both so much for sharing it with me, once again. 💖💖

I’m not sure if our Barrier Reef lived up to your expectations ? But glad you got to experience it. Love your channel and you have inspired me to do this cruise when I retire one day ! ❤

You have adopted the Australian attitude. Deadly box jellyfish? Just put on the stinger suit and dive right in, you’ll be right mate 😂.
🤣🤣🤣

Moms going straight to the death again, also I love that necklace!
🤣🤣🤣 Yes she did, but you know she really did a great job snorkeling, even as she was worried about the jellyfish. 🪼🪼🪼
We miss you and love you all! ❤️❤️🥰❤️❤️
Hi Nancy and Mike! I met you on the Japan-Vietnam-Singapore leg. You two are as sweet on the video as you are in person. I even saw you two holding hands on the ship! Love you both!
Thank you so much!! Glad we can meet up on the ship
We went there in the month of Oct. my husband went snowboarding. The water was too ricking for me to get in the water. It was beautiful

Our pleasure!

Wonderful! I’m glad you learned something new from our channel. By the way, our daughter-in-law is a second grade teacher as well.😀

Thanks so much for the nice comment, Mike here I know I can be verbose sometimes I'm glad that you're enjoying it. 😃
Irikanji jellyfish are way worse than the box jellyfish,
Wow! 😲
