  • In this episode I'm back at 2nd Childhood Toys for another rummage through countless tubs for vintage toy treasure! I'm joined by some of the usual suspects including Dean, Andrew, Dan and Ryan, as well as some new faces including Leigh, the legend behind the fantastic book The Toys of Mighty Max. During this episode we talk everything from Monster in my Pocket to Mighty Max, Rude Ralph and random knock-off goodness!

    Hi Scott - I love these videos. Your positivity and enthusiasm is infectious. The downside is that I'm now keen on about an extra dozen IPs that I wasn't really aware of until I started watching, but you're forgiven.
    All the best to you, and please keep doing what you do.

      That's a tremendous compliment mate, thank you! I just love this stuff, so if that's coming through in the vids, that's awesome👌 I'm only too happy to shine a light on some of these lesser known IPs. Many of them have been drawn to my attention by other collectors, so I'm just paying it forward!😂

( 7:26 🤔 doesn't look like Muscle Mutts or Road Rovers KO figures, lol) 9:11 lol, that ToyBiz DC Lex Luthor figure which many people laugh at his punch himself in the face action feature.... 9:52 that ID4 alien reminds me when I watched in the cinema with my friends, it got us jumpscare like sh*t when the part that alien face split open, that was fun, LMAO... Radical haul, BTW, Cheers!

    Brotha been following you for a while now and been absolutely frothin the content 🤙🏽🤙🏽 if you ever are hanging out in the Newtown area I’ve got a pretty good stop for you and the lads or for anyone who reads this: if you don’t already know the bar 1989 I HIGHLY recommend. The place is packed full of nostalgia of old arcade games, pinball, asteroids and even board games! The back bar is littered with vintage toys (unfortunately not for sale that I know of) and the owner/ manager is a top legend - it’s the perfect collector’s stop for an adult beverage 🍺

    Btw, you mentioned before about collecting NBA cards. Was wondering what sports and teams you follow these days?

    • @ScottCrusher
      @ScottCrusher  Год назад +1

      Appreciate it mate, I must say I enjoyed a couple of hours on the SNES last night in the name of "research"😂
      I still enjoy following the NBA casually, I don't really have a team these days, but still have a soft-spot for the Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Hornets as they were my favs in the 90s. My main sport of choice these days is MMA, I think it appeals to the same part of me that pro wrestling used to as a kid! What about you, what's your sports/teams?

    • @ccipher5990
      @ccipher5990 Год назад

      @ScottCrusher Ha, I'm a bit jealous. Seeing you talking about the SNES in your videos has made me nostalgic.
      I'm mostly into football (soccer) and basketball. Did you ever follow the NBL? And have you ever looked into the Starting Lineup NBA figures? Don't think they made it here to the UK so not sure if they were sold in Australia either.

    • @ScottCrusher
      @ScottCrusher  Год назад +1

      If you're feeling that nostalgia, you can always get in on the SNES action without buying a console, through the magic of emulation! Oh yeah, I still keep an eye on the NBL and used to love going to Sydney Kings games with my Dad and brother back in the day. I'm actually not sure if Starting Line-up was sold here, I can't recall them at toy fairs these days either.🤔

    • @ccipher5990
      @ccipher5990 Год назад

      IIRC with Starting Lineup figures you can't change their poses much. They're still cool though.
      Yes good point about emulation. It's actually more than nostalgia though- I've been watching videos of NBA Live on the SNES and really want to play it now even though I have no childhood connection to it!
