I feed the crows in my neighbourhood and some have become more familiar with me than others. The first year I did it I thought one of my favourites was sick when she started to molt. I was so upset until I realized what was happening. They sure get scruffy looking. 😆❤️
People need to realize that with many rescues it is better to not release the animal after they have healed. It is hard for some animals to be stealthy when they hunt after a long rehabilitation and In some instances other members of their species see them as weak and will attack or kill them. You have done a fantastic job with your birds and it would be cruel to release them. I applaud all that you do. Everyone is healthy and happy....and you two are the kindest animal parents with a sweet and informative show.
Peach is grooming himself very thoroughly. Bathing often and then a good old shake, and an all over preen to encourage those new feathers to grow long. Lovely video Dennis - you're absolutely right, the birds do cheer you up.
Peach! The birds look llike they're having a very enjoyable day! Very active and fluttering about and Peach taking good care of himself. I know when I see them in a thumbnail in my notifications, they cheer me up for sure!
Some people are'nt familiar with the birds history so they make thoughtless comments but most of us know thier story and we're so happy that you gave them a chance in life. Some birds that others friends have, can fly after rehab but don't want to leave, ......they have imprinted and keep coming back so the friends just accept they will have them forever.
Thank you for sharing all your birds living! Certainly know how kind and tender you both cherish each one of them for their best! Now, perhaps baldheaded Peach needs a little hat 🤠 for the coming cold winter!!! 😊🤗❤️❤️❤️
Nice to see the birds close up and see how fluffy Peach is even though he's moulting. These birds are your family now. If they wanted to escape they would have done already. I feed my local crows and magpies now. They're wild but now they come and sit on my roof and call me and show me their flying skills in the morning. Once you connect with them, they become like family just like any other pet animal. You love them and they love you too even if they are birds they have hearts too.🙏✌
Awe!!!!!! funny Peach, I did not realize his feathers are white underneath. He is really having a fun time fluffing up his feathers, after his bath. he looks so cute. Yes our birds and animals make our lives so much nicer and also allows us to understand them more, Thank you Dennis for sharing a special time with peach and the family, xxx
I rescued a crow yesterday, he is bald but it's bloody. I took him to my vet. Now he's at home with me. The vet didn't tell me that crows molt, he just gave me an antibiotic cream and said maybe a hawk attack him. I am glad I saw your video. I hope he makes it, I called him Bailey. I feed him meat, egg, and cat food, apples.
They really like eggshells and it helps with molting. I got a pigeon that will be reintegrated into the "wild" soon. But I think pigeons you could just keep. If they have a cozy place to stay, food and some friends it's not cruel. It might be more natural to release them but it would be more natural for me to be released into the woods with a pointy stick. That doesn't always mean it's the best option.

Great seeing Peach groom up close! He’s so scruffy looking now but once his pin feathers grow out he’ll be his usual gorgeous self!😀
Peach is putting on his Halloween costume! A scarecrow!😂
Good one! :D

Yeah, we get such good therapy from these beautiful birds
I know what you mean about being bonded with the birds. Since I started feeding and have my wonderful visitors, I cannot imagine being without them.
Thats great.
Must be nice for Peach to drop the old feathers, and get new nice feathers. He´s a little darling. Hugs. Britt o Gunnar.
Yes, a fresh new set.
What nice cold bath Peach is having.
Pie is SO beautiful. Peach must be so uncomfortable with this molting process. They are all wonderful birds.

Happy to hear.
Ha ha - his baldness looks about like my head! We just had our first felt cold front in FL - 68 degrees.
That is a nice warm cold front. Haha
It’s so true. We’re imprinted on our birds as much as they do on us…. Lovely to see them so happy
Thanks for your nice comment.

I'm so glad!
I see a lotta shaking going on! A perfect song for this: Jerry Lee Lewis's "Whole Lotta Shaking Going On" (Cherry Lee Lewis! 🍒)
That tune would work great.

Hi 👋🏻 ❤
Hello, Helen.
first! i luv peach
Well crows can live very long (in captivity), so ya'll can grow old together. 😊
Is this the time of year that they molt? Being outside in the Aviary does molting start sooner?
They all seem to start at diff times. Peach was later last year, too
Why Peach is loosing his feathers? I have never seen this with Birds here. Pie is so beautiful as always also the other Magpie, I forgot his name.
He is molting. Molting means changing his feathers. It is totally normal and we have showed this before, in other years
😍❤️
Peach may have lice? Fleas?
No, none of the birds have that.
What quantities of food do they get? I worry over feeding my disabled crow too much
They sometimes act like we are starving them but then other times they dont need much.
@@chv72 So do they get set times ( breakfast/dinner) or do you just leave them food out in a bowl?
@@owenthomas9863 We usually feed in morning and later in day and a snack before bed. They have fairly big appetites but sometimes don't.
