If I remember correctly, EX-Grooves (you can have up to 2) is essentially a customized groove that you can indeed use after beating the game. You can pull from each groove in the game and mix and match which mechanics you want from them, with each mechanic you add to your groove deducting from an overall cost. You can also pick which meter from what groove you want, OR you can have NO meter. 💀
If memory serves me correct, you could also unlock unlimited points for your custom grooves so that way you won't have to worry about the cost. I think you can get it if you beat survival mode? I forget...
@@Mr.Ceasars That's correct, yes. You have to beat All Survivor mode, and it will give you unlimited points. It'll still unlock if you use the EX options in Survival as well!
Yeah, I have them all unlocked on my dreamcast and ps2 versions of the game. It's very annoying to full clear survival mode without dying :/ but the unlimited points for grooves literally turns the game into Marvel vs Capcom 2 lol.
Man really needs to check out M. Bizzaro's Street Fighter compilation of Ryu vs Ken TAS, it's really fun to watch, especially when there's so many games he's done it in 🥰
Thank you SMUG I am the one who have you that list in your last community post about suggestions. This was one I suggested. Thanks man. I got a bunch more if you want some bangers!
Ex grooves are custom grooves on consoles. Clearing survival mode will grant unlimited groove points so you can add normal atk cancel to specials cancel to supers etc. So you can literally L M H without having the timing down like traditional grooves. I want to say the max custom groove points is like 2k or 4k but it's unlimited/uncapped and you can make your groove Hella busted for lulz
Yo Smug It's really awesome to see you reactions and I really appriciate it I found an really awesome animation created by Juan Cruz Hussem Kyo and Iori fighting against Rugal while Rugal stealing some famous moves and it would be awesome to see your reaction on it. Because as soon I saw it I was just stunned by that incomprehensible fight The video is called Kyo y Iori vs Rugal Animación by Juan Cruz Hussem
Smug I like you, so I'll help you out: EX-Groove is the custom groove, but you are right in the aspects that only prove you wrong. EX-Groove is a cherry pick of the features of the Grooves. The player is only handicapped by the points allocated for the custom. Like for this video, there's only three (that I see): The Meter of C-Groove, the Chan combo of N-Groove, and the parry of P-Groove. Also regarding JD [Just Defense] and Parrying, they do the same but they are completely different-- so again you are right but only in aspects that prove you wrong. JD doesn't have the same air tight frame count as Parrying [JD requires up to 5 while Parrying can only be done as late as 3, and from those it depends and be cut to as little as 1], but Parrying allows you to act on the next frame and allow invincibility on moves that usually have it [example-- you can parrying Sonic Hurricane and Rising Dragon from it; not be hit until the usual invincibility is over (which is on the way down, or up depending on the character)]. All JD does is eliminate block stun and recovers one percent of life. Yeah, they both deflect damage but one is specifically made for defense while the other is made solely for offense.
The EX1 uses the C meter and the EX2 uses the K meter and you can customize both EXs using any of the properties. Example you can add dodge from S and just defend from K, use run or hop, roll or no roll, delay rise or quick rise and so on
Ex grooves you get 2 you get a certain amount of points to pick perks from each type of groove and you get to pick the type of gauge you would like for your groove
Might want to look up some of those runs of the PS1 Marvel VS Capcom, they have that zoom in camera and all that stuff. I remember one with Ryu and Strider in particular.
You can do this in the consul version you just have to beat survival mode and then you can put infinite points into the groove creation and that’s how they’re able to cancel moves into other moves. Parry, have the bar from the C groove and do whatever they want.
S.Akuma and U.Rugal both have significantly less health than a normal character, even as final bosses (I think 50%), even when Ratio-4 they still melt fast. I guess to make up for the INSANE damage they do, the funny part is, that when a player uses them, the damage output they have is nerfed heavily as well (I think 50% for player). If they were both the AI versions, they would be able to 100% each other with 1 L3 super. Also, about the EX Grooves, they were FULLY customizable, and there was an unlockable cheat to break the "points" or weight system cap on customizing them, so you could give then like EVERY FEATURE. Each bar style had it's own base-weight and all the extras added weight to the gauge but yeah, with that unlockable cheat, you could make them wacky.
While it’s more of a beatemup than the traditional 1v1 fighter, a TAS series that I recommend is Urban Reign by RUclipsr “bruh C mouth”. Those videos have some of the most hilariously one-sided fights I’ve ever seen ong
Here's the thing, SMUG, you know there are so many TAS videos out there? I actually have a playlist called Mad TAS's. Anyone that wants to check them out if you're like SMUG and just want to enjoy them, I've compiled a lot from guys like Mainahighway, M.Bizzaro, Dark Noob etc on my channel. It's dope to see a big name/content creator react to em'. Subbed and keep em' coming G(pun intended)!
with K grove you can also get some HP back for doing so. Its not as good like it is in Garou Mark of the wolves. you can also recover out of block stun a bit faster as well but it can still be nice to get some HP back against zoners or people trying to oppress you. that is the few cool things about it.
I remember when this game was in the Arcade, i continually saw players use U.Rugal+Shin Akuma+Evil Ryu as a team ... don't ask me how they managed it but obviously team was very broken and only way to beat such team was to get really really good at them game or use same broken team
Hey smug, its great watching you react, commentate, and review all or these TAS videos with the greatest of ease. I do have another recommendation for you to watch and react and its even more CVS2 ex groove madness. Look up the youtube channel KEIKE DESORA and check out their EX CVS2 videos showing more insane stuff with ex groove such as an ex groove with aerial and chain combos alongside all other groove mechanics. Its some entertaining stuff. The channel even shows matches between two players using said EX groove too.
The Evil Ryu vs Shin Akuma TAS fight in A3 is really good. Ryu vs Akuma in 3S is good too but its modified since Ryu does both Denjin & Shin Hadouken. Still badsas though. Think they're both from the Bizarro guy too
People need to understand...its not rugal raging demon is better...whoever can time it exactly (better if further away) can get the drop on the other opponent. The move is the same it's whoever knows WHEN to do it

@@vizzle89 it's ez with u rugal or Shin gouki, that's how I unlocked it on ps2.
so basically this became a dragon ball fight 😂💀
Yeah
Pretty much
It's also how my friends and I think our fighting game matches go
But really we're just whiffing to a time out 🤣🤣🤣💀
Shonen level brokenness. Japan knows how to satisfy a predominantly male audience
@@stefanroche3052 yea this shit is literally a step away from MUGEN lol

Rugal got that because it wasn't simultaneous

M. bizarro has a great one that is Geese vs Rock Howard. I think you'll love that one for sure!
You could make custom grooves in this game, it was sick.
One of my all time favorite fighters. I still play it here and there on ps3
This is a quality TAS to me. There's a SFA3 Bison mirror match with a crazy, cool ending.
Akuma stole the Raging Demon from Takuma "Mr. Karate" Sakazaki. The reason the screen goes black is Capcom was to lazy to animate the super.
Yeah.. sadly not many people realized this
If you get hit…….don’t get hit. Smug with super solid advice for life in general.
It's always the second lights out
Those grooves that were being used can be unlocked beating all survival

Last raging demon always takes priority
Damn i remember watching this years ago
stretching a 2 minutes and 48 second into 12:19, is a master class in content creation lol

Hey Smug. You should do polls when you react to TAS fights lol
E.Rugal tossing Akuma at the beginning of a match will always be the most disrespect Ive ever seen
The boring answer to which Raging Demon is going to win. It’s always the one that activates last. That’s game mechanics!
The canonical true power of Shin Akuma and God Rugal shown in full 1001% power - Circa 2001
I want this as a First to 10. No Cap.
Shin Gouki got robbed like a liquor store.
The supers do so much damage because Shin Akuma and Ultimate Rugal both have low health pools
7:55 First rule of fighting games: NEVER SHARE POWERS
Smug is right,U Rugal is way way harder than S.Akuma by far!
To fight? No he isn't...to me rural was always easier because he was slower and easier to counter than akuma
Shin Akuma: anxiety
Ultimate Rugal: depression
Ultimate rugal IS in fightcade, use the BOSS rom.
Rugal's main feature is stealing enemies' moves.
that pure joy after you watch the winner of Raging Demon is pure gold! love it!
Thats wild🤣 the dashes and parries were great
Number one rule when Rugal steals your move. He makes it better and can do it better.

Usually the second fighter to do a super after the first one usually wins.

Alright let it be Rugal Demon
Someone tell smug to watch the 3rd strike clip compilations.

Its a shame Shin Akuma has the HP of wet toilet paper but I know they had to balance out how stupidly OP his offense is somehow...
You need to see "algo rapido" from M. Bizarro is insane
Crystalcube's urien tas is god tier
Surprised you didn't know these 2 had moves to take off 90% health. You played cvs2 right?
