  • *How to Test a Watch Coil Circuit IC*
    *Introduction*
A watch coil circuit IC is a small electronic component that is used to control the flow of current in a watch. It is typically made of silicon and contains a number of transistors and other electronic components. Watch coil circuit ICs are used in both analog and digital watches.
*Testing a Watch Coil Circuit IC*
To test a watch coil circuit IC, you will need a multimeter. A multimeter is a device that can measure voltage, current, and resistance.
    1. Set the multimeter to the resistance setting.
    2. Connect the positive lead of the multimeter to the positive terminal of the watch coil circuit IC.
    3. Connect the negative lead of the multimeter to the negative terminal of the watch coil circuit IC.
    4. The multimeter should display the resistance of the watch coil circuit IC.
    *Troubleshooting*
If the multimeter displays a reading of infinity, then the watch coil circuit IC is open. This means that there is a break in the circuit and the current cannot flow through the IC.
If the multimeter displays a reading of zero, then the watch coil circuit IC is shorted. This means that there is a direct connection between the positive and negative terminals of the IC and the current can flow through the IC without any resistance.
If the multimeter displays a reading that is not infinity or zero, then the watch coil circuit IC is functioning properly.
    *Conclusion*
Testing a watch coil circuit IC is a simple process that can be performed with a multimeter. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can easily test a watch coil circuit IC and determine if it is functioning properly.

Since the language I couldn't understand will you please mention the places where we have keep the multimeter probes while checking the circuit of the Quartz watch movement to know whether it OK or faulty. Please provide this detail in the description area. Thank you so much for the video.

the digital meter is more accurate and easier to read i suggest to you to get a digital meter it will help you a lot and make you're life easier

I suppose a regular automotive type DVOM Ohm setting is too high current for testing the watch coil. I see on that meter you are selecting the current for continuity testing.

Not really, the small swing of the needle is visible, but a digital meter won't really display it.

How did you determine how many seconds of pulse? (1 secs, 5 secs and 20 secs)

I think it is the design of the circuit, not your choice. Some watch hands only move every twenty seconds for example, but most are ine second.

    • @gang208
      @gang208 8 месяцев назад

The 5 sec and 20 sec pulses are seen in dress watches without a second hand. Some watches even have 60 sec between pulses.
