its an att phone. my son is Verizon. I put Verizon sim in, pull it out and it just takes me too the start menu as if I startup my phone. You need to put SIM card that has PIN locked. Not just any SIM card. If you don't have PIN locked SIM card, than setup PIN lock on your SIM card by inserting it on another working phone and setup PIN lock from Settings.

Anthony Brasher that was phone’s PIN lock. You need to setup PIN lock in your SIM card and then insert SIM card in phone and follow the video

Nycole Hannah You just have to insert any SIM card with PIN locked. You can setup PIN lock with another mobile that is not google locked. Inserting other SIM card in phone doesn’t cancel service or harm your phone/service/SIM card.

Insert SIM card in working (non-Goolge locked) phone. Get into Settings, search for Setup PIN lock function. Default PIN lock for most of the SIM cards are: 1111, 1234 and 0000. Be warned: You have only 3 retries before SIM card gets PUK locked.
