I'm a cigar and whiskey guy, but stout is also a go to of mine with cigars. Coffee is also good in a pinch. Love your grading scale. I think that's a first on the pairings lol
I smoked a Casa Turrent 1973 with a coffee one morning before work and it was amazing. In the early hours of the AM as the sun was just coming up. Great experience. If I was going to have a stout I'd go with Guinness all day! I'm biased lol
No worries my friend. I plan on doing more whiskey and cigar content than that. May only be time for one or two actual Leaf and Barrel episodes, but plenty of other whiskey and cigar content. I’ll try to do more L&B’s if I can for sure....but there are only so many hours in a day 😜😉👍🏻

I save the ones for the cigars that I like so I remember next time what I had that I liked. One I wish I saved memory wise and coolness wise was the onyx wrapper don’t think they make em anymore
Paul McCormac That’s a great idea. I usually only keep the cool ones. I smoke Acid Blondies a lot. Not worth keeping those. Lol. Those are my daily cheap smokes. Only down side being part of Farm Rolled. Lol. No cool bands to collect
Paul McCormac I only had my first months cigars show up about 3 weeks ago. I have smoked 3 of them. I tend to like the lighter cigars and all 4 were pretty dark for my tastes. But not bad by any means. So I’d say if you’re particular to a certain type of cigar, it’s probably not for you. But if you like a variety, it’s good. They promote it as $20 but you pay shipping. I think it was just over $25 total so that averages to $6.50 per stick. That’s not a huge bargain in my opinion. But I did it because I like the mystery. Not being able to search for a review of something before I smoke it. I am excited for the next one. I hear it’s gonna get better the bigger they get. They have some pretty good companies letting them use their sticks. I’m not experienced enough to know what these cigars are. I just know if I like them or not. Lol

Hay, I was wondering if I grow some small batch and make them could I send them to you to try? I am from Alabama, and I found out that we can grow and sell them with the proper permits etc, but I always heard from my grandfather and great grandfather about Alabama cigars, and I tried one (a very very old one) that I found in my grandfather's stuff after he passed that he kept to give to me but never did because my father looks down on the smoking even though he chain smokes cigarettes LoL (which it understandable) but we have during the summer...heck most of the year a wonderful growing climate for the tobacco plants and during the Confederation of Alabama and a little bit before we was known as the brown rose of the south due to our tobacco products and cotton products. The climate changed a little bit during the great depression and they fell out of popularity over time..but I've always wanted to try it sense me and my grandfather always talked about growing it and trying it out, we have good soil rich on our farm, and I inherited most of it. I miss my grandfather dearly but he loved life, and tobacco, he stopped smoking shortly after I was born but he never stopped chewing tobacco. LoL. And the smell, it reminds me of him a lot and he was my best friend. Yeah I know it takes a while for them to grow, and it would be next year before I can start now, but I thought, shits and giggles would you like to try some Alabama grown, handmade no factory cigars?
The one I tried was great, it had a wild persimmon sweet hint with a pleasant coffee/chocolate after taste and I actually have a family recipe book that has some family recipes for cigars in it.

I use one I got off of Amazon for like $12-15. It's worked well for a few months, but it's starting to leak now. If you don't mind fidgeting with them to keep them from leaking, butane inserts are a nice way to go. They have a little lever that the zippo hits to shut off the gas, and the one on mine is kinda flimsy and bends every so often.
I love that in 10 months of smoking premium cigars, and probably having smoked 100 different sticks (from Padron’s to Tattoo’s) I’m finally starting to learn what I like and don’t like in my cigars. I’ll choose Blantons over any other Kentucky bourbon and I live in Woodford County 10 minutes from the Woodford Reserve Distillery. Also I have been able to source some farm rolled Cuban cigars that rank with the brand name vitolas. I was a Juan Lopez fan until they got so popular. Now their quality isn’t close to what it used to be.

zippo makes an oem soft flame version thats held up for me, and has a nice classic look, you should look into it

I’ll choose Blantons over any other Kentucky bourbon and I live in Woodford County 10 minutes from the Woodford Reserve Distillery. Also I have been able to source some farm rolled Cuban cigars that rank with the brand name vitolas. I was a Juan Lopez fan until they got so popular. Now their quality isn’t close to what it used to be.
