I really love this film it shows us that love does not have any rules, they really said love is love at any age, i really need more movies like this one it's fabulous and cate literally killed it
beuatifully pieced together...the music adds a touch of mystery and allure, yearning and excitement, and lastly...sensual and beautiful. im awe.struck with Cate's beauty...butterflies fluttering in the pit of my stomach! i'm emotionally overwhelmed...omg f%@#en beautiful!!!
It's so hard to believe that next year will mark the 70th Anniversary of The Book. I would love for someone to do a special Edition. Also the Book itself was inspired when Patricia Highsmith waited on an Older Elegant Woman and went to New Jersey on The Commuter Train, stood outside her Home and went home and wrote The Book.
Powerranger6342 I haven't seen the film, but randomly just out of curiosity. ..how many people in the world do you think know the difference between lust and real love ?. I mean how many people know how not to get confused between sexual desire and pure love?..unconditional and pure affection for others ....maybe both is portrayed in the respective movie but why do u think love and matters of it are so complicated today. Well I think u won't probably answer so late but still if u do it would be great if u do get to read this rather long comment;):))
You clearly didn't pay attention to the story. Have you read the book? If you haven't you can't really say that haha. Also if you're straight that also means you can't say that, considering it's generally harder for straight people to understand this film because their love isn't 'in your face.' The two characters spend a lot of time together on the road, more than it seems in the film. They are there for each other during hard times. Therese is an anxious girl who needs help and guidance, and Carol is there for her. Whilst Carol is generally quiet about her own issues, Therese is there and it's unknown to her, but she is the light at the end of the tunnel for Carol. HONESTLY - as cheesy as it is, this is literally a 'love at first sight' thing, and it's a love that's true and pure. Carol would not have her big speech about 'going against her own grain' if it was nothing but lust. Why would she give her life up for some girl she met in a store if she didn't love her? Why would they spend MONTHS crying over each other (in the movie) if they didn't love each other? If Carol wanted a woman to sleep with she easily could have found someone else once she separated from Therese. You're obviously just a bitter person if you couldn't see the beauty and the love in this film.
I really wish to meet someone older and elegant as Carol 😭😭🥺
Simply the best

It's a shame that it was used in a film that promoted lust instead of real love.
