Who else can play this music with such a sound and the feeling !!!! Only Matthew !!! In Procol i had many fave musicians Gary ,BJ!!!!! ,Robin ,Chris ,Geoff ,butMatt was above all .unique sound ,musicianship , and play ,Underrated !
Magnificent. The best live performance of Repent that I have encountered. I once (2002) played the original '67 recording for my then-boss, proudly announcing it as one of my all-time favorites. She said I must be crazy. Quite rightly so.
This is so good. In 1992, I saw Procol Harum live with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, for both shows, and this song was part of the setlist. Thanks for sharing this. May Gary Brooker rest in peace. Cheers! ✌️
I always felt Matthew Fisher's organ playing provided so much of the emotion in the earlier PH numbers. I also reckon Geoff Whitehorn's guitar work fits better with the band than Robin Trower's did, despite his obvious talent.
In my opinion, in Procol Harum not only Fisher was a unique musician. BJ was a phantastic drummer, and Brooker's voice should also be considered unique. And Trower's guitar is also a big deal.

50 years on and they were still playing it at concerts, so it must have something.

Thank you for posting this gem. This song inspired me to become a Hammond organ player...such a beautiful, grand moment this is.
I love it, I love it, I love it forever
Spectacular. If that doesn't make you repent, nothing will
Wonderful, Just wonderful
Thank you, Hermann. Another brilliant classic!

In this version Geoff whitehorn's guitar ... reminds me of ritchie blackmore, great Ritchie! I wish once he plays this tune... Love Blackmore
This always brings the house down.
Vielen Dank für Deine Mühe. Schönes Wochenende.
Thank you for this gem
matt was procol's george harrison. not a lot of songs but they were some of the best in the ph catalogue.
Can’t think of better guitar playing on this song than Geoff Whitehorn does here. But I’ve missed a lot of concerts too.
The only regret I have about PH is that I never saw them with Matthew Fisher.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Magic pur❤
The Captain forgot his Bach prelude there for a moment !!!
I got the sense he was intending to stretch it; but lost his way momentarily and settled with the abbreviated offering.

First time I hear Garry loose the melody. Great, he was not perfect either. Nobody is. (But Jesus Christ) But Gary gave it always lots of emotion.
And according to Matthew it was Gary's idea to include it in the first place.
