This was my first time doing the airbrush style from the 90s Japanese artwork by Akira Watanabe. It was pretty difficult but I'm really happy with how it came out! Other influences for this drawing were art by Naoto Ohshima and Yasuchi Yamaguchi, AKA Judy Totoya. This took about 11 hours from sketch to finish, not including 3 other draft sketches I did to get used to drawing classic Sonic.
