    I purchased this router back in August 2019. This device is a beast in case of signal reception. Plus it has dual band.

    This B525 router is not VoLTE capable which means it will turn to 3G or less once a call is ongoing via the wired phone. I own one and generally agree with this review. Great video!

    You can tweak the settings in your Huawei B525 router by flashing the lastest firmware and de-branding it. You can select LTE Bands, and lock your router to a cell tower for faster speed.

      Hi CustardDonut, Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it. I am working hard to try to improve with each video, this was made a while ago and hopefully my audio is a bit better in more recent content? Im going to try to be clearer and louder for my next video that I am filming :)
      Also I am happy to hear that the vid was helpful. Have a great day.

    Is it best to use 5dbi or 10dbi specs on the small antennas?
    I've seen these two options available when you order that kind of small antennas.

    I am very new to the concept of leaving a comment so I hope I am doing this correctly. I have a Huawei-B525s model is B525 -028A now off-contract on a 4G Vodafone SIM. You mention I can use an old-style conventional phone if plugged in to the phone port.
    I fail to get this to work. Would you be able to help me with this...

    • @BeforeYouBuyGuy
      @BeforeYouBuyGuy  3 года назад

      Hi Leo, to make it work on my device, I plugged in the sim card, then plugged the phone into the device using the phone cable. I got a dial tone right away. I dont have the router anymore. As long as the sim card has credit or a plan for phone calls as well? I only used it a couple of times as phone. Good luck let me know if you get it working

    • @BeforeYouBuyGuy

    What's the difference between modem and router? Both of them deliver wifi connection. Im just bothered. Thanks!

    • @BeforeYouBuyGuy
      @BeforeYouBuyGuy  4 года назад +1

      A modem connects to the internet and then you use a router to direct that internet to other devices. I think the term these days is often used interchangeably - especially with a 4G device like this which will access the internet and also work as a gateway - so its a modem because it provides access directly to the internet and its also working as a router because you can plug in multiple devices through WIFI or the Ethernet ports. Thanks for watching.

      Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it - I have not had personal experience in using the B535 but I am sure it also works fine. I have had mostly positive expeirences with the B525 and it comes with the USB port and the phone port which is not included in the 535. As such if you want to use either of these features I would go with the 525. - if you are just after raw Ethernet speed, I believe that the 535 is better being CAT 7 whereas the 525 is CAT 6 but most normal users would not notice the difference.
