16-24 year olds are interested in football but they simply can’t afford to pay the money these clubs and broadcasters want. I haven’t bought a replica Liverpool shirt in about 5 years because I can’t justify spending £70+ on a shirt that will be replaced anyway in 12 months time.

@1TAG Exactly, we all love our teams. I've been LFC since 82 but I'm under no illusions that since the PL came in and the money went crazy that players don't really care about fans. It's nice to hear them say something that gives a glimpse of reality but most of them are so far removed from us that it is honestly not worth your dismay or upset. They're rich people who are living a privileged life that most of us can only dream of and while it's romantic to think they care about us, they really don't maybe with the exception of a very very few.
