Hi from Australia, I remember my dad playing that song about I owe my soul to the company store and i used love that song and now it makes so much sense another day older and deeper in debt. Wow that was so cool and very interesting. Thank you heaps for the history lesson.👍🏻

Grew up and went to school nearby. Sad to see what became of McDowell county WV. Back in the 50s and 60s it was a good, safe place to grow up.

In Europe everywhere you look there are buildings that are older than our country here in the US. We have so many places like this full of collapsing structures that aren't even 100 years old!!

I grew up just a few short miles from here in Anawalt. I remember riding bicycles all throughout the 80s and “exploring” all those buildings

I lived in West Virginia for 6 years. I got a job installing vinyl siding. I've seen a lot of WWa. I saw a lot of rot, decay, decline, death from opioids, just plain misery and moving on. I hated it.

You butchered Matewan. It's pronounced Mate like one's mate or how the Australian's call each other mate. Wan like won in Won ton soup. Matewan. Have you done a video on Iaeger?
