**UPDATE** From the 15th of August 2020, Twisted Oaks is now available to ride for non-members every day except Tuesday and Wednesday when they are shut (open from Thursday to Monday). It will be £9 for an adult (+16) and £5 for under 16’s. To do so you will have to book in advance on their website, linked in description, to ride as they are still limiting numbers on site to prevent overcrowding. I still highly recommend becoming a member but you now have the opportunity to book in advance and check it all out before becoming one.** And you never know, you might see me there one day aswell. 👍👍 ------------------------------------- To clear a few things up: - I haven’t uploaded in a month due to making this video and having a small break which allowed me to film this. - The dirt road I showed in the video is not the road to get to twisted oaks, but it is the entrance driveway which you drive down off the main road to get to the car par, it isn’t very long. - Where I say I cannot get enough speed on the dual slalom, this was because it was so dry as you can normally get lots of speed on it. - Remember at the minute it’s members only because of coronavirus, I will update this when you are able to go as non members. - Also the first jump in redwoods where I said watch for your back wheel, no it’s is not hard at all and I wasn’t making out that it was, I was just explaining if people are beginners and want to try it that they have to have enough speed. If there’s anymore questions on twisted oaks, then feel free to ask me. And
Love the vid but at twisted we also have more plans to get more non bike stuff in such as toilet block a place to server food to everyone and possibly a bike repair place so everyone can maximises there time at our bike park. Our aim of twisted oaks is not to make money it is too provide the local people with a good fun place to ride.
Troy The Mushroom, That’s really good to hear, look forward to seeing just what will happen next at twisted oaks. It’s really good what’s been done so far and has completely transformed riding in the east for the good 👍👍
After watching this video mate we couldn't care less if you wanted to make money the food and repair shop sounds good maybe have a few stands people could use and a couple bike wash stations can't wait to go here next week
Great video, as someone who is essentially a beginner and is soon buying my first proper mtb (full sus trail bike) this video is excellent. I live in Colchester so can't wait to visit. Will almost certainly get a season pass, as it offers fantastic value.
Nice video sir - Like that a lot. We had our first run out at Twisted Oaks last week and will be back soon as it's a cracking setup. I really enjoyed the XC Red Route and some of the wood trails (I'm not great in the air) but the small jump lines were easy enough even for me! My sons proceeded to rip every jump line they could find (except the biggest gap lines) and raved about the place even more... Although they aren't so keen on the climbs! ;-)
Best video ive come across for this park, very in depth for someone thats yet to visit. Out of interest how busy does the park get when you've visited?
Thanks for the in depth review, going to book and give it a go today. Good to see there is somewhere local with jumps and drops without having to drive West for 4 hours 👍
Thanks! And no I’m afraid they don’t offer a bike hire service at the minute that I’m aware of. I’m sure it’s something they might plan for the future but not right now.
CF Hinds, No unfortunately it isn’t, they’ve now opened up to non members so you are now able to go any days except Tuesday and Wednesday when they are shut. To do so you have to book in advance on their website which I’ve linked in the description and it is £9 for 16+ and £5 for under 16’s and you can’t just turn up and pay due to Coronavirus restrictions but booking through their website is no hassle. 👍👍
Very useful guide, I'm interested in becoming a member, and I understand you have to book in advance, do they often get fully booked do you know? As in if I booked on Friday would I be likely to get a place for Saturday?
Every time we have been so far it hasn’t been fully booked, I am not 100% sure so don’t take my word for it, but in the future I think they plan to limit it to 50 bookings a day. So yes if you become a member you have to just go onto their website, login to your account then book the day and session (s) as you can book morning and afternoon sessions together to make a whole day which they are open until 8pm. And I can’t fully answer that as I don’t know but you should be able to get a slot as we booked last minute and managed. I also highly recommend if you can going on a Thursday or Friday as they are normally a bit quieter. 👍 Hope That Helps
Yeah you can ride anything, as long as it has brakes like mentioned, then your fine! I think I’ve even seen a fully rigid bike before on the XC track so you’ll definitely be fine. 👍👍
@@TrailTrialerMTB hi there just came across this park & omg looks AMAZING!!....when u say anything, is that a yes to Surrons?? I have brakes. Please say yes...Please say yes.....please say Yes 🙏🙏🙏lol
@@mattverlander545 By Surrons, I’m guessing you mean a motocross or dirt bike? I had to search that up. If that is the case, then definitely no!! You have to have an e bike or push bike to ride, no dirt or moto bikes allowed unfortunately as it will just trash the trails.
I should imagine so. 👍 It’d be worth checking though on their FB page or on their website just to make sure, but I can’t see why not. I know dirt jump bikes are definitely allowed. 👍
