Oh my goodness, Lauren. This piece looks better than new. I believe you made the right decision to paint the sides. The wood is so beautiful. Awesome job.
Love it. The wood tone is beautiful once restored and the black makes it more modern. Staging the inside would have been nice. But I might have added some wallpaper to the back of the inside to make the staging pop. Beautifully done!!!
I love the decisions you made for this hutch. I dislike solid black furniture but the warm wood panels framed in black paint is very striking and handsome. I like that a female can do a repurpose that appeals to the masculine and not just pink with floral transfers. I'm glad that you coated the black with a low sheen. The matte black seemed to clash with the lustre of the wood. That little bit of sheen gave the black the necessary visual weight.
That’s so pretty. I’ve found that lots of people aren’t using these hutches anymore so I’ve been taking them apart and selling the bottom half as a separate cabinet. Then I put feet on the bottom of the top half and take out the middle doors and sell it as a bookcase. I think they sell this way because a lot of younger people don’t display dishes and things.
You couldn't have posted this video at a better time. I have a 2 piece China cabinet that I've been needing to do. The idea of the wood and paint combination is a great idea. Thanks Lauren !!
I definitely need a paint to use without sanding I just got a beautiful shelf that would look great in this black and I've been lookin for the perfect matte black... This is it thank you
Let me just Say that This Hutch and the serenity Mcm chest Are My 2 TOP Favorite That you've Done Up to Now.....just Love how they Both turned out ...so Beautiful....great Job Lauren😊👍❣️
@@FurnitureFlippingTeacher you're a Teacher and rightfully so ..so Lots of your pieces come from variety and trying new Techniques and teaching Stuff....BUT I REALLY Believe These Last 2 pieces Was LAURENS Vision 200 percent and IT Shows. .. Outstanding Lauren.... gorgeous results!👍😊❣️
Turned out really well! I've been thinking about using the Howards restore a finish and feed and wax on some furniture I have. Glad you used those products today!
Very beautiful, Lauren! Really love the piece itself and your vision for making it pretty again. Nice work! Never underestimate the power of a senior discount...;)
This is a really beautiful piece. Great choice of the products you used. Love it. I also use Howard’s products. Great products. I’m looking forward to trying Melange paints🙏
I love how you refinished this with two tones. Great job! I tried Howards on a dresser with a water damaged top and it simply did not work. However, your use to simply refresh the finish worked well! I will keep that in mind for upcoming flips
What a view you have on the farm! I love watching you! If you ever want to come to CO to do a flip, you can come do a flip at our house! We have a spare room for you to stay too! 😃
You have such a talent for this! What a smart move for you to take some time off from teaching to develop your skills in this area! Kids and classrooms will always be there when you are read to go back…retired special Ed teacher here.❤️🐰
This is gorgeous with its simple lines, will fit into any decor and never become dated. I'm surprised anyone would ever get rid of it, maybe they downsized.
Hi Lauren! I’m new to your channel. I’ve redone furniture in the past for personal pieces, but after watching your videos I got so excited realizing this could be turned into a side job/passion hobby. One thing I was wondering was if you’re from a larger city? I used to live in a bigger city where items would go faster on Facebook marketplace.. but after searching the local listings in my new smaller town I’m thinking it’s going to be much harder to turn pieces over quickly for profit 😞 I’m just feeling defeated after I got so pumped up to try this out for extra money
Idea! I think there is a good stainable filler (used by professional furniture refinisher and use and then wipe a light coat of matching stain all over the buffet.
I am a sucker for black furniture. Very nice work and I love the wood tones as well.
very pretty, the contrast between the wood and the black is quite striking. You are a very hard worker and good at what you do.
I love the black with the natural wood! Excellent job.
I've used all the Howard products for years. They are truly great.
Oh my goodness, Lauren. This piece looks better than new. I believe you made the right decision to paint the sides. The wood is so beautiful. Awesome job.
Wonderful way to keep some wood. The design with that black is genius move. I think the piece now looks worthy of any price for the person with space
Thanks, Nancy! I was so glad I was still able to highlight some of the wood tones (: Thanks for watching!
@@FurnitureFlippingTeacher you and the photography shine. I shall always want to watch. Stay well
I love your decisions to change it up if you don't like your first idea. You rock!!!!
Gotta be flexible for sure! (: thanks for watching!
Nice result! I’m glad you allowed the wood to show and used restraint in the painted parts - understated and really nice.
Gorgeous!!! Fair price. Its a unique piece. You are definitely getting more creative with your projects!
Love it. The wood tone is beautiful once restored and the black makes it more modern. Staging the inside would have been nice. But I might have added some wallpaper to the back of the inside to make the staging pop. Beautifully done!!!
Love it! It's looks like it's dressed in a tuxedo!! Be patient, the right person for this will pounce on it!
I think so too! (:

It looks beautiful. I'm glad you decided to paint the sides.
It was good choice to put black color on the side of the piece, love it, so beautiful!

Thanks! It sort of became a bit more work but I just love the outcome!
I used the Howard’s Feed and Wax on my kitchen cabinets. They look like really nice pieces of furniture. The China cabinet is beautiful.
Beautiful! And absolutely unique.

GOOD CHOICE TO PAINT THE SIDES BLACK, TURNED OUT REALLY NICE
Looks lovely Lauren, black seems to be getting more and more popular, loved it with the pop of gold. Would love to know when it’s sold xxx
Basilisk, I'm sure I spelled that wrong, would love to see more done with that black. Looks awesome.
It looks fabulous. Saw the peeks on fb stories. The hardware looks like little pins for putting things on notice boards! So cute. Great job.
It does! Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for following along and supporting!

When I saw it, I thought the same thing! I think its absolutely amazing ! Thanks for watching!
Quick question. Why did you paint the hinges? I have done that only to find the paint rubs off.

Start with something small. You never know if you dont try. You might find some kind of small town niche thing.
Idea! I think there is a good stainable filler (used by professional furniture refinisher and use and then wipe a light coat of matching stain all over the buffet.
I thought about it but all of the stainable fillers I have found don't become the same color. Frustrating !Thanks for the idea & thanks for watching!
Hi, wow love the piece, colour is perfect for it. Turned out great. Hope u sell it soon.🙂
I hope so too! Thanks!
This looks very similar to my video from last week : ) Congrats for taking on a huge project. I stay away from the hutches these days
It is lovely
How long do you list before you drop the price
It came out great
Thanks!
I used watco restore oil and it covers those areas good. Just an idea to try one day. Just started watching and had to let you know that
