- "A glooming peace this morning with it brings.
The sun for sorrow will not show his head.
Go hence to have more talk of these sad things.
Some shall be pardoned, and some punishèd.
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Juliet and her Romeo."
(From Act V, Scene III, lines 316-21)
Romeo & Juliet is Shakespeare's timeless romantic tragedy about two star-crossed lovers caught in the fray of their warring families. Set in Verona, Italy, the play follows Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet from their very first meeting at the Capulet ball, to their falling in love, and to their secret marriage.
But the deep rift between the two families continually pushes them apart, with Romeo banished from Verona for vengefully killing Tybalt Capulet, and with Juliet promised by her father to the high-ranking Count Paris. The play's ending, which sees Romeo and Juliet take their own lives after believing the other dead, is one of the most iconic and tragic moments of all drama.
This piece was composed, recorded, and mixed by me using virtual instruments from @spitfireaudiollp.
