Everyone makes mistakes. That's just the life of performing. As a performing artist, the best you can do is prepare every single aspect of the piece you are going to perform and the mindset and feeling of being on stage. Mistakes don't hurt anyone, well, they may make the performer cringe, but that is besides the point! 😂 One mistake should not determine the quality of the performance or the musicality and quality of playing of the performer. Ray Chen is still one of the best violinists of this century and will always be until the end of his performing career. ❤

so, to sum up: 1. E. Korngold - Vln Concerto * 2. G. Tartini - "Devil's Trills" * 3. F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Vln Concerto * 4. H. Wieniawski - 1st Vln Concerto, Mvt. 1 - about 6 min into the piece
But he's quite humble by admitting his mess (watch the video Ray reviews himself). Making mistakes is human. There are still rooms for improvements and learning.
All these mess ups are very small and non significant. I wouldn't call him in anyway the goat, but the reasons should be deeper than a couple skipped notes on a staccato virtuoso passage :/
Even though goat means greatest of all time they might not necessarily think he’s the best, they could just mean he’s very good (an exaggeration, you know?)
