I am sorry to hear that. It is definitely an option to at least be able to hear someone again in a different way than a video or something.

It is my robot called the R1: ominousindustries.com/collections/robots/products/r1d-the-intelligent-companion-robot-for-everyone
I sell them for $199 as a DIY kit that you build. The one in the video is a prototype of it with an external case/shell, the $199 one does not come with the shell but it is functionally the exact same thing. I am hoping to have it for sale with the case and a few tweaks in August, though it will be $299 and I will continue selling the "naked" model as well.

i've thought about doing this as well and have mix feelings about it. All my grandparents have passed. it is sad to watch this and think about the ones i've lost. I've always thought i should do one for me. an AI version of myself that could last after i go.
I do like the projection face design. i played with this idea a couple years ago with rear mini projector and lens with a plastic Halloween mask to get the face shape. i did a quick test but it's all in a project box. i should bring that back. could do some cool stuff with ai now. never posted this openly but here is my first attempt ruclips.net/video/gfbaw6JM0wo/видео.html I think it could be better and refined. Possibly just a round projection screen to make it more 3d looking? but i think the mask worked okay.

Damn! I am really impressed with that and some of the other stuff you have on your channel. You are really talented! It will definitely be easier for us to make something like this for ourselves after we're gone.
