I think that with all my education and knowledge I've acquired over the years I think I could finally see myself working on this field, I'll be that dude always mixing the putty and filling up the holes in the models and parts all the time.
Destiny
I also applaud the aircraft mechanics for keeping these aircraft safe once it's out of the engineers hands.
Tailstrikes do not only occur in the VMU test. They can also occur in the TOP test (take-off performance test, which determines the basic data for calculating the take-off performance of an aircraft). For this reason, devices such as those shown in the video at 2:46 are installedat the tail so that the fuselage is not damaged too much.
nope but in the real world if the tail does not have protection a tail strike can do a low of damage to the tail

Its not cruel testing. Its called stress ,performance and safety. It how they establish the limitations of the aircraft for the pilots so they don't exceed them
Secondly, it establishes the maintenance requirements so the airlines know what how long parts will last
The USAF lost AC-130J brand new from because the aircraft went inverted during testing for a few seconds. It recovered and landed safety however per the maintenance manual had to be written off as it exceeded the safety thresholds
Hence why this testing is important
Ya don't say.... 🙄
@@Patrick42567 yeah shut up you talk like a "anti wheel cruelity group" shut up
@@tanjianyumoe5700 Get back in your Test Tube. You still have a lot of maturing to do little one.
I Salute you people the Real Engineers
By "fitted with brakes that have been completely worn out", they mean brakes machined down to the expected maintenance wear limit. So still plenty of energy absorption left in them (or else the plane wouldn't stop).
Is it not to test out the thrust reversers?
@@TheHunkerBeans6841 As it happens, reverse thrust isn't used in these "rejected takeoff" tests done for aircraft certification. That's partly for conservatism, as well as the reality that one reason an RTO might occur is because of an engine(s) problem.
But even with all reversers working at full power, an airliner wouldn't be able to do a maximum (kinetic) energy stop in a reasonable distance with just reversers. Despite all the noise, they don't provide nearly as much stopping force as brakes.
yes, we all learned about the 73-MAX. Awesome video , so interesting. thank you.
Salutes to the pilot flying for test
G’day that was interesting and it bought back memories, when I was in the Air Force Cades many moons ago we saw a mirage model go through a wind tunnels. We couldn’t believe how detailed the model was. Take care John

Tester dans les pires conditions. C est gage de qualité.
Torture testing is always a good idea, to push your product beyond what it was designed to withstand until it fails under controlled conditions.

Nothing about this is cruel. These are quality, stress and safety test.
With the rejected take off test the ARFF can approach the aircraft but can not apply any material for a period of time to account for real world response times. ARFF is usually on the airport grounds, especially for anywhere receiving a 747, but they are not usually sitting at the side of the runway unless an emergency is declared prior to arrival.
Great Documentary,Make More
That was an antps-75 radar in the beginning notnised on flight line but for war and some training, I was a technician on one in the air force
FYI Airbus is not a French aviation company, it is a coalition of several European countries and is head quartered in France
Fantastic ! 👍
Superb Stuff 🙏
Yep! A spirit bomber can land on an aircraft carrier!
Thanks for the video
Oh begitu ternyata baru tau saya 👍👍
Sungguh menakjubkan sekali 😁
Didn’t do so well with the 737 Max!
Perfect, 👍👍👍
It would be fun to bring rc planes to the model aerodynamic testing lab
Take care John
雨も雪もドライも同じタイヤってのが凄い
まぁそう簡単に変えれるタイヤじゃないからな....と言っても交換頻度は高い。摩擦が凄すぎるからすぐすり減るんだよね
I feel pity for these aircraft
...yaa , you AND b a baracus...😁
Keren si burung besi. Sangat luar biasa best
Very experienced pilots
Thank goodness 😮
Wonderful technology
You can't talk about the advanced engineering of these machines and say "temperature of 65 degrees" period. Degrees what? What's the unit, people? C? F? K?
and despite all of this boeing failed to tell pilots about MCAS in 737 max and 300 people died for it ...
Wow this is interesting 🔥💯
How much that fast flight to the sky wow
Amazing technology thank w
thanks.
Does night landing and take off occurs on CVN Flight Deck while some do maintenance on Fan-Tail?
there are no aircraft on the fantail, they are on the hangar deck, and yes mainenance goes on 24/7
Ma’am, if the planes wheels are on the ground, I would hardly call that flying over. Seriously

wow amazing

nice video.
Wow!
Yep I am absolutely sure this is the case for airbus.. Not for boeing.. As we have seen

This is why I don't freak out during turbulence. The aircraft had probably been put through worse.
Awesome
@ 5:43 That’s me if I’m part of the test crew 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
More seriously than other operator.
Mam I think that the landing gear is
Having pressure and then have fire
9:02 when was that clip filmed cuz they use winxp
3:05 - Is this test done for ALL aircraft manufactured in the production line, or, only a special test aircraft for each model??
Usually its done with all types of aircraft, ensuring no immediate breakup when a certain part strikes the ground.
@@ripnob Yeah, I get that they do with ALL TYPES (i.e. models) of aircraft. BUT do they do these tests on every aircraft that comes out of the production line?? I am guessing not.
@@briannorth5862 No, only the first aircraft of each model go under this testing, after that in the production run, because they already have all the data, there is no need to test every aircraft that comes off the production line.
Oh I thought this was Ryan air landings and takeoffs 😂

I ain’t got nothing to say. Dada salam 😂
although unlikely what would happen if upon takeoff say 200feet all engine lost power whether fuel or ingestion causing the compressor stages to shatter, would the plane be able to stop or only after it hits the ground running? or do we just not tell the poeple what could happen if all the stars aligned for a second?
Wow technology these days are insane
I think this is a very old video.. I've seen that 747 test years ago..
Why aren't landing gear and cargo areas equipped with automatic, small-scale fire extinguishers like those used in modern race cars?
737 max has been tested to one of the most precious labs yet with such kind of results? It's the worst one made by boeing
Idk what u said
to test?? Make a profit??? Of course, the important thing is to make money, who cares about the test?

The aircraft "DOES NOT FLY OVER THE WATER TEST ON THE RUNWAY AS STATED", THE AIRCRAFT NEVER LEAVES THE GROUND, WATCH THE VIDEO VERY CAREFULLY TO SEE THAT THE WHEELS NEVER LIFT FROM THE TARMAC.
Great video but Airbus is not a French firm, it's a pan European company with final assembly in France.
I am a pilot I did 3 emergency landing beackus my wing fell of and engine on fire
Airworthiness testing be like

Миссия невыполнима это создать конкурентноспособный российский самолет.
Airforce 2?
Hi
The narrator's mind is reading climactic when it sees climatic. I wonder why..
I'm pretty sure the unstick test is to demonstrate that the aircraft will take off if too much pitch is applied, rather than just running off the end of the runway.

I don’t think the word cruelly and aircraft go together. Otherwise, they would be a Society for the prevention of cruelty to inanimate objects.
It seems that there are not the same tests at Boeing ... Bravo Airbus!
There definitely are. This video covered the Airbus test but Boeing and every other large aircraft manufacturer does the same thing.
Airbus A380 hast bigger landing Gear then Boeing 747
