This has easily become my favorite channel. You know what you're going to get here. You get fabrication/mechanical work, not recoveries or road trips like other "fab" channels. Thanks for all your hard work and excellent content.
The way you used those two P clamps to mount some of your fuel line is the exact same way i mounted my heater hoses on my cummins swapped gmc. Keeps them up out of the way of the exhaust and has been perfect for the past 12 years. And happy fathers day bro. You're doing a hell of a good job!
Super! I am watching to see how fuel vapor recovery should be handled with my new tank. My build is just to get the 1970 driving before I drop too much money into it. I replaced the 4 cylinder with a Chevy 327 and turbo 350 trans about 1988. The original tank rusted out. New tank has vapor lines that collect like a 1975 would. An engine water jacket thermal driven vacuum line can release the carbon canister vapor when warm purging into the intake manifold but concerned about running lean and loss of vacuum with this set up. (I updated to vacuum assisted disk brakes a while ago.) About the power steering, a power steering box off mid ‘80 Toyota pickup. Mount the box outside the frame just forward of the axle with the rest of the box riding on the frame rail. This allows the steering linkage to go direct without pillow blocks or complications trying to get past the V-8 exhaust manifold. Since the steering extension down to the pitman arm is so close to the axle, it does not interfere with the tires. I had a little issue with the radiator frame bucket. But if this old copper does not cool enough I will put an aluminum in offset from center and use electric fans instead of the centered engine driven flex fan I have now. If you want photos I can send . Thanks for the videos and ideas. Much appreciated.
In Australia they have an auxiliary tank under your driver's seat additional 15 gallons gravity feed the main tank tap between great build love it😊😊😊😊😊
Looks awesome! this is by far one of my favorite you tube builds to date! only downfall is I had to replace my mouse from "smashing that thumbs up button" after binge watching this build from the beginning😅😅 keep it coming man, I cant wait for you to fire this thing up either!
That may have been a tank baffle you cut out...keeps fuel from sloshing like crazy when the level gets low, so the sender float doesn't bounce around and cause your fuel level readings to get wacky. I could be wrong though, not terribly familiar with how FJ tanks are set up. Either way, progress is looking good man!
I’m pretty sure you’re right, but if he didn’t cut the whole thing out just that section he needed it looks like the pump mount maybe is wide enough to kinda replace that piece of the baffle he cut out
You may be right! There’s actually 2 so it still has one, and I didn’t cut the whole piece. Also the hanger may help because that’s in place where I cut the original out! Should be ok
@austinniemela nice thing about the tank being under the seat is that it's easy to access if you need to add a baffle back in! But, I think you're both correct - the added pump assembly might do a pretty good job of mitigating any side effects caused by the piece you removed. Can't wait to hear that beast fire up. 😎
Yeah, apart from it being a tank support, it's also the tank baffle to help with fuel slosh. Cool thing is, his tank is easy to access incase he'll have to replace it
great work! looks slick with routing through the frame. Maybe add some kick protection from little feet, where the lines first go into the frame? Fuel regulator? didn't see one!
Nice install bro! Clean as always! Can’t wait to hear this thing bust off for the first time and also excited to see how your wiring harnesses and stuff look when you’re done
Not seeing in the tank but that may have been a baffle not just a support fyi. I really can't wait to see this thing wheeling though! You are making a monster!
Can’t wait for that first start either. That thing is going to sound so good. Curious on how it will ride on the street. I imagine it will still ride nice with the 4 link and coil over suspension you built. Probably 10x better than stock
The plastic return line you cut might work better if it sent the return fuel away from the fuel pump inlet. This would help keep the fuel cooler and less aerated. Awesome build!
You want the return to go back into that baffle "bowl" so that when the tank is lower on fuel it helps keep fuel around the pump pickup and reduces starvation.. Its the way all OE in-tank pumps are setup also..
@@markwelliver2566 how many manufacturers install a powerful v8 with a high volume pump in a tiny fuel tank? Fuel pumps die an early death pumping hot aerated fuel..

@@NoRodnoReel I definitely can pay attention, I hereby mean that he can reduce the amount of pre-activity monologue that he normally does. It keeps getting longer and longer. Personally I am more about the tinkering than portrait vlogging shots. About 1/3 or more of the video is a portrait of him ranting, it is ok but it gets tiresome after a while. He said, 'enough about ranting' just before the two minutes mark 01:51 which means he is aware of the audience needs. TL;DR no one asked but I am free to comment, am I not?

Yea, but he replaced it with the fuel pickup assembly, which will provide roughly the same anti-sloshing. I think it will be just fine.

Thanks! Fuel regulator is on the fuel rail!
Looking real nice. You might want to think about a shut off valve/ball valve between the tank and filter when you want to clean the filter.

Yes you did start your motor I heard it on here.....you wouldn't try and fool us TSN?
Dude just use a clear vertical hose, pipe fitting, and hose clamps on the driver side of the tank plus flashlight for night time crawling 😂
What fuel line / wrap/fittings did you use? thanks!
I have a link to the kit I used in the description!

You can find something else to watch if being able to pay attention isn’t your strong suit.
