In the bios you need to run the QFlash utility. It will list the contents of your flash drive. Select M79xUD4P.F5 file, and then the Qflash utility will initiate a bios flash.
@user12119 Ah thx for replay! So if I save the last stabil bios setting, I can set it back without any problem? And I can't kill the cpu, yes? Despite extreme cases.
oh ok thanks so how do i install the bios? i knwo i put it on a flash drive then boot from the flash drive but is that it like it installs when i boot from it and im done?
Man the Four core is usually a DAMAGE core in the integration process, they disable that core and sell the chip as 3 cores, so you could expect freezing or blue screens from windows due to wrong operations from the unrealiable core.
yo can u tell me what im doing wrong i put the file on my flash drive and i see it on qflash i try to update to it and it says bios id update error or something like that -.- please help
does anyone know how to monitor the cpu temps after unlocking? i've tried hwmonitor, everest, and amd overdrive but none of them shows individual cpu temps...but it does show cpu temp but not for each core, and it says 30 celcius..is that good?
This is either going to work or not; I had one that would not unlock or even POST no matter what I did, returned it, got a new one, worked first time out with the same settings. It depends on the chip...
Easy way to update bios: Go to GIGABYTE site, find your mobo, download BIOS file, install @bios from driver CD, run it, chose to update bios from a file on HDD, open file where you downloaded it from GIGABYTE and wait untill finish, then restart and THERE YOU GO!!!
i got it to work and then i turned off my computer for the night and when i turned it on it only runned on 2 cores:S and when im trying it it doesnt work:S
Their is unlockable cache in 7850. Better of with a 550BE if Dual core is all you need. I gamed with a 5200+untill I got my 550BE and games run fine now with the 550BE, (I hardly use it as Tri/quad) Can OC easy to 3.7 stock cooler. And will more than likey be up as best dual core 2009.
dont forget you have to check your motherboards . version, if you use the wrong bios to flash then your fucked, i checked my version downloaded that version, but mine happends to be a faulty corei should of left mine at what it was in x3 mode had it running stable at 4ghz. i disabled the 4th core but i cant clock past 2.8ghz or i get a black screen when i reboot. IMO it's not worth risking. i have the same mobo and cpu
@xXxDANMANxXx thanks for sharing your hatred on a public forum. Why don't you share it with all your contacts at your workplace. I can imagine the rest.

@noipv4
You need to copy it on a usb flash drive first and then use Q-Flash
option in the bios.
ok thanks also how is overclocking with this board?

I get a boot failure after unlocking the core, I use a corsair 550W power supply. Maybe I need to route more power to the processor?
im getting this same mobo and cpu combo can u show me where u got that bios update? or did it come with the mobo
can this also work with using default settings for EC firmware on normal and use the ACC to all cores.
@CrashproofCode It may be a dead core. Can you test the CPU on your friends motherboard?

Will this work with Amd Phenom(tm) X2 545 3.0GHz
and M4A785TD-V EVO?
Please answer fast :)

Not allways...
With todays econemy, Tri cores are selling a litle more than quad. So it suits them to disable them rather than wait on damaged stock.
i think it said bios id check error please help
Is it safe, because AMD doesn't guarantee it will be stabile!
What is the worst thing what can happend after unlocking the fourth core?
