Ok I was saving all this for my book however I am so excited tonight to find this on RUclips this is as good a place to tell this amazing story! My girlfriend and I were in Eureka ,Ca. the morning of 12/31/75 , I was 20 years old and Janaea was 19 . We knew the Dead were taking a break and that Jerry was playing at the Keystone but we decided to take a trip up north! All of a sudden we said lets go , both under age a long ass drive, such a small club etc. So we get in the International Harvester Station wagon and it won't start, some how I figure out that the butterfly valve is in backwards on the CARBURATOR , I knew nothing about cars and to this day I still don't drive we truck on down to Berkeley, Ok we can't get in because of our age , somehow I got in,, Janaea was a bit more complicated , A woman lent Janaea her ID but the problem was getting the ID back to the girl, so Janaea runs out of there saying she is a diabetic, we are in!!! Then after the hummingbird blotter halfway through the show I get a tap on my back and it was Bob Weir heading for the stage!, I must say one of most increible nights of my life, Nicky Hopkins although white/grey as he was when he was playing with Jerry ,the most increible Rock n Roll Piano player to ever walk this earth, Bob Weir one of the three best rhythm guitar players to ever share his awesome talents with this world (the other two Keith Richards and Pete Townsend) , Matthew Kelly a totally bad ass Capo Harpmaster General, the rest of this cosmic band OMG! Thank you Jerry Garcia I am purchasing this download Now!!!!♡
Michael Tekeli beautiful story. But Berkeley is south of Eureka.
Great version, probably second best behind one of the other keystone recordings. Love the harp work, wish there was more. Not too many 9 minute songs that I would say are too short but this would qualify.
money who needs it let me live a life free and easy and I'm gonna live like I love! you know grow your own and not pollute and ruin the planet
This "Roadrunner" is fierce, not to under sell John Kahns massive bass thunder & Matt Kellys harmonica.. but Jerry is just KILLING IT
Always love this…always miss you jerry….always love you, Jerry
This is badass!!! Miss you Jerry!!! I love to still listen to you & your music still & always will! Yo Yo Yo Gratefeul Dead!

Nice treat having Bob Weir sit in on a JGB set. If anyone knows whos blown that sweet harp, lemme know.
I believe that would be Matt Kelly
Thanks, man.
My face tho....
I saw Jerry do this in south fallsburg, NY at music mountain summer 1982 and it was superb. And later did it ever rain for Bobby & the midnites. I was 20 years old plus he did the night they drove old dixie down oh what a show.
