Finally. We can do more than have Holly Angel pointing at 2 Lycorises with a couple of backrow now. The deck was too dependent on getting Candina to get anything done. And now we another searcher, some link climbing tools and ways use the grave to extend. It may not be meta defining support but I'm really happy about it.
ya trickstar is too dependant on both canadia and 2 Lycorises If u not draw either canadia or 2 Lycorises, u pretty will lose the match. Lycoris themself is also just 1600 attack so those having higher attack than her can kill them easily. The new support do at least help them survive and provide some new options so I pretty happy with it .

That trap card has that normal spell restriction because it would be busted otherwise. Its ANY normal spell and being able to use some normal spells twice has never led to anything fun. It does seem so balanced it is worthless but it its an additional effect to it doesnt hurt
Also trickstar has that absolutely crazy double token spell that banishes itself to protect your monsters. the restriction makes sense even in pure trickstar.
Maiden would have been better if Blue Tears was a quick play without the normal spell stipulation. The Link 2 I like as it is more than a Holly Angel retrain as it provides nice synergy. The fusion is also what I expect from a design perspective, but like the overall support, it ain’t high impact support. Better than nothing, but people who expected meta defining support are delusional. Trickstar, similar to Sky Striker already had their time in the sun. With the right pilot however, the deck with these 6 support can perhaps do well at a tournament like regionals, but I wouldn’t expect more than that. Lastly, why isn’t Difussion a spell for immediate play? 🤦♂️
Yeah Diffusion is pretty disappointing since there aren’t any Fusion monsters they can make that can capitalize off of being summoned on the opponents turn. But overall the support is not great but not totally bad either
Omg I was just theorycrafting Trickstar support literally last night! And Hoodie is almost exactly the card and effect I was coming up with! Yeah a lot of their Link monsters are not good, but one that I think has untapped potential is Divaridis. She’s literally Maxx C but for burn damage rather than card draw, and Sweet Guitar lets her deal double effect damage. I wanted the deck to go more that route and I’m so happy it is! Though another thing I wanted to see/was cooking up was a card that targets a Trickstar link monster, lets you choose a number of Trickstar cards (either in deck or gy, depending on what would be most balanced) and having the target copy the selected monsters’ burn effects. Cause imagine with Divaridis, Band Sweet Guitar, and Lycoris, they take 400 damage with each special summon and draw/add to hand. Lycoris by herself is already lethal when paired with Reincarnation, and I think that would be fun Though the spot removal wouldn’t have been the direction I would’ve went with in terms of disruption. I would’ve leaned more towards hand disruption, like The Weather Canvas Aurora where if they add a card to the hand, it gets banished and they draw a card, so the disruption + burn is a 2 for one, as well as being a more unique and interesting approach to interaction not seen as much as opposed to negate/destroy/bounce. But overall I’m completely happy with the support and the fact Aoi Zaizen is getting support. Trickstar is such a unique deck with their own unique playstyle. The Light Fairy waifu fusion archetypes are eating good! Now if only a certain Dark and Light Beast Warrior fusion archetype piloted by the best and most badass yugioh character to ever exist can get a few more cards too??? 👀
Yeah he just has a bunch of misfit dragons technically he got more dragons then just what he used in the anime in Nebula Dragon, Galactic Spiral Dragon, Galaxy-Eyes Satellite Dragon and Starsiege Seyfert all have lines from Mizar in Duel Links as well
I can see the synergy already, I don't really know if it will be enough to fight against the current meta, but at least 4 of those cards are what this archetype needed. I will be so happy to burn those decks at my local. Come one, special summon and draw if you want, but -200 -200 -300 -300 everytime hehe

@finalfantasyre7 this is why yugioh needs alt formats. I don't think your concern with cards should be "well it's not meta, so it's garbage". I personally would like a Tiered format like Pokemon's Smogon. But definitely need something to encourage people to get excited about new cards outside of being meta in Advanced

Great to see another search outlet for the deck to get us more Reincarnations even if it is on a fusion. Was really hoping we'd get an extra normal summon for the deck because it desperately needs a consistent way to get 2 Reincarnation turn one. One to fire off immediately to avoid Prosperity and one to save as a searching interrupt.
If Drummatis' 3rd effect wasn't once per turn, trickstar would be right back into busted territory. Most of the Trickstar link monster will be around the 3k range

When he said “I don’t see the use for the last effect of the trap of resetting a spell” almost lost my mind; cause now you can have a 2 and 1 in the trickstar festival, you can protect it 3 times cause the limits of cards in deck, but now you can reset it and have the protection back again; but it’s every generic spell, you can remove it or for some reason the spell get banish you can reset it, for me was insane.
I'm actually thinking the new Blue Tears trap can use both in one turn, which would make it a little better but i'd have to double check. bu i love fusion and i love traps from we are so back from my standpoint.
this new support is good enough. the deck now has the reincarnate droll combo, burn lethality, and finally can put some consistently larger monsters out thanks to the fusion effect. You might sleep on their current links, but holly angel and crimson heart is good for the resource grind, while the new fusion trap makes divaridis actually have a reason to be in the Extra deck aside from as filler. Their fusion is the standard effect, but it has grave recursion on top of that, so it's still a decent enough card to put back facedown for later, if you for some reason aren't grabbing festival with diffusion. lastly, the deck still has one of the craziest hand disruptions in the game with reincarnation. it banishes your whole hand and revives any trickstar from grave. the deck won't be tier one, but i can see it putting up respectable numbers at regionals.

In the same boat. Tachyon dragon stuff is lame to me. Doesn’t move the needle for me at all. Seems more likely Luna would be a cover card for a core set now. As for the trickstar stuff; Support isn’t insane, but judging this deck is kinda hard because of the alternate win conditions of burn and droll reincarnation, so I think a low ceiling deck that has these free wins available and the ability to play a large amount of non engine can be a winning strategy. Plus 1 card can change the world, so I won’t overreact until we see that last card:]

So they nust ended up giving them more things to burn the opponents. It'll be a 2 turn burn deck. The support is fine it doesnt need to be over the top great effects since it supports what the deck is supposed to do, which is burn the opponent for playing the game.

Last time was Ancient Gear and Lightsworn. Ancient Gear still terrible going first, going second is otk or scoop. Lightsworn is still outdated as Konami refuses to make it function on its own without outside support. And for Vrains there is only Gouki, Dinowresler and Tindangle left to support... GX archetype (Vehicroid, Cyber Blader, Water Dragon, Arcana Force, Cloudian, Venom, Fossil) are not playable they need real support... And on the 6 Duelist Pack, GX is only one with no character on the cover on it...
Ok this support seems… mid. The melodious support REALLY made me hope that this trickstar support would’ve been bonkers but… the new fusion does basically nothing, the new fusion trap is extremly bad cuz it’s a trap and not a quick play, the new extender is good but was it really needed? The new link 1 is whatever, the new blue tears is pretty fine I guess. Only one that’s woah here is purely the link 2. Outside of that everything else is ok to bad and that’s sad to see. Guess trickstars will go with the Solfachords to melodious school of learning how to git gud
What are you on about? Trickstars have been one of the most hurt decks in terms of massive powercreep. Even then, this support is nice, but nothing overly threatening from a meta perspective.

Third: the fusion's are the background instrumental musicians with the links being the lead singers like with real world musicians.
The Trickstar Link monsters need to get better musicians then because the Fusion girlies are expensive and/or inconvenient to hire.

It can be used in one turn. As long as effect damage is dealt. Which you will be dealing on the opponent’s turn.

she does search everytime she's normal summon the double summon combo is summon candina search, lycoris effect target candina return her to the hand double summon summon her again, search.You could even use chain link to summon 3 times that same turn to abuse candina normal summon search(I play trickstar I know how her effect works, as long she can be normal summoned she can search@@dudono1744

Well.. compared to some other bad cards that Trickstar has, its quite the upside.. Maybe Low-end Rouge status ? Im kind of curious to how people are going to see the ratios for the extra homestly.. lol Another question: We running Pot of Desires in main ?
First: If that's a Cnumber 100 on the image then hope it's useful.

Not making it meta, but good support. Not great, but pretty good, even moreso if there's 1 or 2 more cards in the set
Yeah the themes get 7. 6 are revealed at once. One is held back.
So they nust ended up giving them more things to burn the opponents. It'll be a 2 turn burn deck. The support is fine it doesnt need to be over the top great effects since it supports what the deck is supposed to do, which is burn the opponent for playing the game.

Ancient Gear still terrible going first, going second is otk or scoop.
Lightsworn is still outdated as Konami refuses to make it function on its own without outside support. (They still refuse to acknowledge the lightsworn user Blair, cause it's obvious Konami is never printing her anime cards)

Since the Rush era we only got 8 achetypes for GX character (Armed Dragon, Destiny and Neos HERO, Volcanics, Ancient Gear, Yubel, Crystal Beast and Cyber Dark)
5D's get 12, ARC V get 17, DM get 14 already...
And for Vrains there is only Gouki, Dinowresler and Tindangle left to support...
GX archetype (Vehicroid, Cyber Blader, Water Dragon, Arcana Force, Cloudian, Venom, Fossil) are not playable they need real support...
And on the 6 Duelist Pack, GX is only one with no character on the cover on it...

Ok this support seems… mid. The melodious support REALLY made me hope that this trickstar support would’ve been bonkers but… the new fusion does basically nothing, the new fusion trap is extremly bad cuz it’s a trap and not a quick play, the new extender is good but was it really needed? The new link 1 is whatever, the new blue tears is pretty fine I guess.
Only one that’s woah here is purely the link 2. Outside of that everything else is ok to bad and that’s sad to see. Guess trickstars will go with the Solfachords to melodious school of learning how to git gud

More support for decks that really really don't need it. Trickstars getting support make me want to roll my eyes.... ugh....

What are you on about? Trickstars have been one of the most hurt decks in terms of massive powercreep. Even then, this support is nice, but nothing overly threatening from a meta perspective.
