One of my favorite places I visited in Greece. I went to this same shopping district and did hella bargaining. They overcharge for tourist prices, so some of the more lenient places are the “shadier” ones, but the process of bargaining was spectacular. Always got amazing discounts and the sellers were reasonable and courteous.
There is so much to see in Monastiraki. From vintage furnitures to classic vinyl records from sandals to rare books editions. There are certain pawn shops with vintage items you can easily spent days in their shops.
I know the sign of the fleamarket is confusing but you actually passed the real fleamarket at abyssinias square but its really only bizzy sunday mornings.
@@michaeldeleonardo9301 Thanks for the info. We might take the metro to get to Monastiraki. Yeah, wish they were closer, but this looks like the easiest one from the pier. We appreciate your help.
@@leeh9211 .....I highly recommend when you there go the Athens riviera....check a place out called "Flisvos" and in the centre there is a cool place called "Lycabetous hill" you can walk up there or take cable car...etc the best place for amazing views
Hi! Does anyone know where there are CHEAP SOUVENIRS near the cruise ships terminal port? Are souvenirs like postcards, magnets, stickers, keychains for 1 euro in Greece? If not, then how much are they? Are other items like charm pendants for 1 euro? What about the cost of cheap statues of famous landmarks? What about pins and their cost? Are there cheap coin purses or deck of cards? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks for you help.
I am from Piraeus where cruises find harbor. But there are few shops near the train station that connects Pireas with Monastiraki , Thisseio Athens all the way to Kifisia that have the items you are looking. There are also some near the middle of the port close to the courts near the street of B' Merarxias (Second Brigade) and some on Skouze str on the port side not in that street.
@@Rousseau4469 Thanks for your assistance. We just got back last week and was able to go to Monastiraki. I left the tour group from the Acropolis museum and walked there. I took the train back to Piraeus and then a taxi back to the cruise ship. Your city and Athens is beautiful. I did find cheap souvenirs on my walk to Monastiraki and there as well. I wish I had more time to visit, but our ship left at 3pm. We didn't get off the ship until almost 9am. Yeah, not enough time, but what we saw was amazing. We love your city and thanks for your help.
@@figureskating2724 if you happen to visit Piraeus again I strongly suggest a stroll through Zeas port on an afternoon and after wondering streets of Castella hill with stairs to reach the top where Prophet Elias church is located. In that area there are at least two or three tavernas and restaurants that offer one of the best views especially by night of Faliro bay and very far to Athens Riviera and of course of Athens. Probably the best view in all of Attica.
Jesus is coming soon He wants to know you and have a relationship with you God wants relationship not religion I'm trying to help you I'm not trying to force anything on you not going to church on Sunday will get u to heaven but by doing God's will and having faith in him. just trying to save you from eternal hell fire and torture Praying for you Jesus loves you guys Nice content ❤

No country has a history like Greece.
Egypt has #1 history
I don't know who told you it's a flea market but it's normal touristic area with classic overpriced touristic shops.

Only tourists shop here. Locals don't buy souvenir chachkis. And they "overcharge", because tourists try to bargain. You think we're Morocco.
Very nice glimpse of athens flea market. Good recording
I am from Athens and I live in syntagma
where was this vid taken? like which market?
Very nice video 👏 👏👏👏👏
I wouldn't travel to Greece to go shopping! Come on! There's so much to see

Where is it located in athens? Which part
Does anyone know if this bazaar is in walking distance from the Cruise Lines port or is there any other bazaars near where the cruise lines dock?
Nowhere near mate....the main port "Piraias" is a good 6-7 miles away you can't really walk it. Taxi depending on traffic around 20 mins away
