    You post this today and this happened to me today...I run off the black ink on a refill cartridge with auto reset chips(no prime required cartridges)for an epson workforce....I had to run about 4 cleaning cycles to get the air out...this has happened to me twice already...from now on I am going to visually check the ink levels at the cartridge not the one shown by the printer every month and refill every month. Usually the inks on a full cartridge last for us from 3 to 4 months. Thanks for the suggestion!

      I don't wish that to anyone but often is the only way to learn why it is imperative to keep those carts topped off as much as possible.

    Hi Jose...great wealth of info...any recommendations for refillable or CISS for Epson XP-6000 printer

      No idea. I do not have nor use that family of printers. Only PRO Photo printers.

    Curious -- was the printer primed with ink before the very first ink cartridge was installed???

    Hi. Thanks for the tip. I am running MIS InkSupply auto-reset T157 type carts for my Epson R3000. Have not re-filled for more than 1 year until today. The printer is still showing nearly empty levels in all carts. Is there some procedure I can do to force it to reset? I tried removing/replacing the carts once more, this time with printer still powered on....no change. Thanks.

      No. They will only reset after the chip says it's empty. You'll get a red x and you better have kept them topped off before the chips are empty. You do not want to loose the priming . Then you remove it and re install it. That's when they reset. So ONLY after they reach "Empty"

      @@cheo1949 Thanks. I noticed the Matte black is currently selected and shows as full. I want to switch to Photo Black which is showing quite low...but when I try it says to change the Photo Black now. But each time I remove/replace it, it keeps saying photo black is too low. Any tips?

      @@cheo1949 Hi,
      Is there a way to force the level meter to reset to 100% without waiting for "empty" message?

    Is there any difference between Japanese version (PX3V) and P800? planning to buy a PX3V and will probably put bigger cartridges

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  3 года назад +1

      I would not know. Probably the same physically. Be aware that those large carts will not be able to pressurize to specs and the need resetting after 80 ml is used. The chips are not programed for the larger volume they hold.

      @@cheo1949 I am curious because of the Chipless firmware does support the P807 and PX3V. Wonder if ARC cartridges would also work other than P800

    IS THEIR A REFILLABLE CARTRIDGE FOR THE EPSON WF7820 OR A WAY TO RESET THE CHIPS PLEASE HELP

    • @zeroumashi2947
      @zeroumashi2947 Год назад

      Yes on ebay, find *T812 refillable cartridges* . You want the ones with the chips unless your printer has chipless firmware.
      You will also need to keep replacing the chips every time you refill since it uses one time use chips.

    WHy is nobody filing a massive lawsuit against EPSON ? EPSON has made changes to ALL its printers, ALL models, you can no longer use refillable cartridges with auto reset chips or reset existing ones. .......in the past you could buy refillable carts with ARC chips on them, now, for years and years nobody has cracked the single use chips used - so when ink runs out on the refillable cart, you have to buy single use chips, each costing $10-$12, what a RIP OFF, it's just as expensive as OEM - and the EcoTank solution is horrible, epson made those tank printers to fail much sooner and clog their heads.
    EPSON should sell those printers for double or triple the price, BUT allow you to do whatever the fuck you want - meaning use 3rd party refillable carts with auto reset chips.

  • @jackbrown5269

    You are just saying to use a CISS, since the CISS keep the cartridge always full and the problem is so solved

    • @cheo1949

      As long as the Outer Tank set is perfectly balanced and at the correct height and internally the ribbon is not cause any problems, they are excellent. Otherwise they are a headache.
