    Just found your channel and you’re absolutely adorable and knowledgeable. I’ll bet you and Wonderhussy would hit it off. I’d love to see you guys team up and go on an adventure. She loves hot springs too. I’m kind of an amateur geologist myself so I really appreciate what you do. I ran across another RUclipsr geologist named Shawn Willsey that has a great channel if you love geology. Because you guys and rocks, ROCK!

    Absolutely beautiful! My 79 year old mom and I are flying out to Vegas at the end of April then heading to Cerro Gordo, Trail of 100 Giants, and Yosemite. Gemfield sounds like a great stop on our way back to Vegas to fly home.

    You had me at “ Hot geo-thermal fluids intruding into tight cracks & fissures” ….😉. Always a pleasure to see your videos Ellie , and your enthusiasm and excitement while exploring new areas is so refreshingly beautiful in this day & age . And you sitting in a natural hot spring with a cup of joe , in only a knotted up T-shirt & your underwear was a great way to enjoy Hump day in the Middle of the week between Christmas & the New year . “Do what you love , and love what you do , and work becomes no longer work , but fun instead “. Thanks for all you post , and may you have a blessed & safe 2024. Stay safe out exploring now , ya hear ?? C-ya in the future….😎👍

    One reason ppl soak naked is because laundry detergent residues and microfibers that are introduced into the spring change it's ecosystem. Just in case anyone thought it's "bad" to be naked in hot springs - it's actually preferred and considered good etiquette by the hot springer community 💦

    Alkali Hot Spring is actually on private property, but the signs keep disappearing. According to someone who knows the owners, they leave the hot water on at full flow, to make it too hot, and have been known to show up at night, leave their lights on pointing at the tub, diesel engine running until whoever is in there leaves. Not recommended. There are better ones that I won't mention.

    • @desertwaters_808
      @desertwaters_808 8 месяцев назад

      Very irresponsible for someone to promote a spot that is not legal to be at. She also doesn't understand hot springs etiquette or chemistry (theres a practical reason for not wearing clothes into hot springs but she's just concerned about "eww being nude" LOL)

    • @RLZerr
      @RLZerr 8 месяцев назад +2

      It is on private property and is inappropriate for anyone to post videos and basicly invite others to it without owner's permission. The no trespassing sign is there on the tree, but vandalized and faded. The land owner is known to run people off. Some of the locals will say the public is not allowed. Not to sound negative but people really should be careful with all this internet promotion. I'm surprised she wasn't cooking in that pool. The fitting behind her, is on full flow with 123F water input at 10gpm. It is adjustable. This hot spring is usually too hot and filthy with algae and bacteria from nasty, smelly people and their dogs that so often come here often bathing with soap. The tubs get very gross rather quickly.

    Is bullseye chalcedony the same thing as fortification agate. And did you know that if you find a giant on Google maps and you go to it. Try to figure out where the eyes might have been. You will find selenite crystals. Small dogtooth type and if you were to put them all back together you'd have a little sphere. You SEE what I'm getting at! I'm telling you biogeology is way better and more exciting then what we were taught. Sooner or later you just got to break down and live in reality. Trust me you don't want to be one of them that taught us wrong when the time comes. I like you and I think you're cool. So don't be a fool there's still time to go back to school. 😇

    I don't know if you watch your own videos but I am sure it would make a huge difference to viewers if you took a minute to wet the rocks down you find otherwise to be honest they look kind of bland like you kept mentioning the colour purple but in the video it just looks grey. Fun video overall though would be nice if you took the trouble to wet things down.
