About the artist:
Anwesshaa appeared on national television for the first time in the year 2007. Thereafter, she has been a part of various other shows. Her first breakthrough in Bollywood was in Golmaal Returns for Pritam Chakraborty when she was 14. Films like I am 24, Raanjhanaa, Revolver Rani, Love u soniyo, Panchlait, Dangerous Ishq, I am Banni, Kaanchi, Prem Ratan Dhan payo, Do lafzon ki kahani, Just Tigdam, The Final Encounter, Bansuri, etc led her towards silver screen. Among Indian regional languages,she has been doing playbacks in Bangla, Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Nepali, Rajasthani, Bhojpuri. She gave her voice to around 500 movies across all languages till date. Anwesshaa has been bestowed upon by honours like Filmfare Award (East), Mirchi Music Award (Bangla and South), Tele Cine Award, Big Music Award, Women Entertainers Award, Star Parivar Award, Chitrapat Padarpan Puraskar (Marathi non-film), Academia Award (from Los Angeles, USA for independent song), etc. etc. She recently worked as a Composer songwriter in two Bangla feature films and released a few singles. The audiences' love continues to give her strength for creating more and more original content.

Those who comments black on the performance must acknowledge that it's not recorded professionally, n simply normal recordings down the value of genuine performance. Those who singers must know that every day it's not ur best day. The video watchers must know that editing on those hands who uploaded the video.. why the male voice is missing that shouldn't be asked rather we must enjoy the pandit ji n anweshas shooting performances. Rest we r nothing except comments and they are everything as they are performing.

Anwesha, not sure if I can articulate enough. Tor golaay Sheyar moto modhu plus your renditions are all superb. All murkis are perfect plus I hear you sing notes perfectly which are not there in the original song by Lataji. Listening to you singing is always a treat to our ears.

I found most of the comments here about your role in bollywood music. Its true that Bollywood brings a lot of money and a lot of fame... and some of the best composers, lyricists and singers have worked in bollywood but sometimes it is important for us to take a pause and look back at the very rich and impactful history of music, and not just film music.
Coincidentally I was just listening to the song " Nearer my god to thee ", a song which the musicians on Titanic played while the ship went down...just to soothe the nerves of the scares passengers and eventually went down with the ship
The song " Yankee Doodle went to to town": many think it as a nursery rhyme... but its a song from the American war of independence... Uniting Americans against the British. A popular bengali song has been inspired from it " Lal jhuti kakatua'
Tagore had composed one of his songs based on " British Grenadiers march" Which is again a british marching song... In those days soldiers did not have advanced communication devices and relied on the band to communicate orders
There are numerous 'swadeshi songs' which were sung by the freedom during fight for independence... Most famous being "Bande Materam"...
Salil da had composed 'Hei sa malo' in suport of the Tebhaga revolution
I just said all this stuff just so that everyone knows about the various types of music... appreciates the cries of joy, sorrow, fear etc associated with music. So that their soul beats with the rythm of the drums once played by the soldiers on battlefields.
In a similar way Indian classical music is our pride and our heritage.. Right from Tansen, Baiju Baura, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.... to present day Pt. Ajay Chakrabarti... I am so so happy to see you still performing classical music.. Hardly any other playback singer sings classical after entering Bollywood playback. But then I had understood way back you are not 'any other' singer... U are very very diff... Brought back memories of 'Bhor Bhaye' from maha muqabla.....

I think God took his time when he was making Anwesshaa Sahiba. No instruments are needed, her voice has built-in musical instruments.
