I used to love watching stu Smith and Frankie wayman battling it out, Coventry was amazing specially as I was a 13year old kid who traveled down from London with my parents,fond memories and stu Smith was the best
Used to watch F1 at Odsal in Bradford which was a tarmac track back then. The 3 main stars at that time were Smith Wainman & Wolfenden and they were a good watch but plenty of others could win back then. Stuart Smiths record in the sport speaks for its self and he was one of the best.
I remember smithy ! I was 14 I got into the racing with headly hill from Radcliffe ( my sister s boyfriend ) his bro chris an I did the body work ! Don't laugh ! Now retired body repairs vet they were good years every week end up and down the country !! Stu was fantastic !! Ask the yanks !!!

Absolute legend, saw him many times in the late 70s at belle Vue, white city etc.....
