I love these videos and I also love to see the younger generation get in to them. They really only had one issue and that was their coils, so I’m glad to see you guys resurrecting these.
We have the same model Lawn Boy that was purchased in 1998. It's maintained well, and it still runs strong. Two years ago I purchased a NEW Lawn Boy figuring I would replace the old Lawn Boy, but it still wants to work. I only used the New Lawn Boy a few times.
Those things are monsters, dang powerful for a push mower. Nice to see you got one that doesn't surge.

The air gap should always first be checked in a no spark situation .. and do use a business card as a spacer since nobody can really eyeball such tight clearance. Buying cheap chinese coils is not a good idea. They never last and rapidly work erraticly, leading then people to do unwarranted carb rebuilds. Stick with OEM , built in Germany.
yep, air gap should always be set with a business card because no one can eyeball a .010 gap.

The old coil HT wire had a real bad kink in it.
