He has snacks and on one trip had to eat his breakfast for dinner as the foreign MRE he brought out camping was terrible and likely very old. Very unusual.
I bought the Naturehike Cape 8P tent for the family because of this channel alone. The test reviews you do are invaluable Luke. LOVE seeing "behind the scenes" like this.
Yeah I think Luke has proven he can be trusted to give honest reviews. He might be worried that it’ll subconsciously affect his judgement of the product though.
It’s safe to say that no tent is “perfect”. Today, they normally range from “good” to “excellent”. Where and how they are used can vary satisfaction up or down, and various users will report differently. Of course there are a few tent shelters that will perform poorly over various uses and raters. But fortunately, not many. We are very fortunate today compared to 60-70 years ago. And yet, lots of folks enjoyed camping that long ago and a few thousand years before that. Technology, imagination, engineering, and open markets have benefitted us immensely. THANK YOU! Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
I could be wrong but I don't think this channel is geared for high end/super expensive product reviews. A company like Hilleberg might be the exception. But in today's economic climate, I believe a lot of us are looking for a balance of quality vs value.
Luke does a good job to balance both low and high cost items. Turns out that more often than not the low cost items aren’t worth the money, imagine that! There are some exceptions though.
I HATE chinese junk tho! People that buy from scamazon and complain with low reviews are pathetic as they spend the absolute least amount possible for something from china...what did they expect? Yes your right a good balance.
Luke buys the equipment out of his own pocket, then reviews them. The companies that make the tents he reviews do not send their product or pay him to review. All of us want quality and a good price and that's what Luke does for us who want to enjoy camping.
Love hearing the coyotes while your camping/on lone wolf mountain. Long ago in my early days of camping in the north central PA wilds when we camped we always heard them calling to each other. Miss that! Glad you can experience it. Thanks for sharing your camp adventures and honest reviews. We appreciate you!! Hugs to Susie!
I'm on Day 2.5 without power here in Kirkland, Washington, due to the cat 4 bomb cyclone. Jet boil, jackety, and camp stove for the win. And oh, rtic Coolers saved my freezer items and fridge items, too!
I would like to see an honest review of the RBM inflatable tents. The panda air looks to be an amazing tent. I really enjoy your videos and reviews. Thank you for making them for us to enjoy.
Sorry hopefully your power will return soon. At least you have an alternative power source. We had those powerful winds here in Ohio yesterday. I thought my windows were going to blow out. I gotta admit I was scared there for a minute!
@sherry8894 those winds shook my 5 story apartment building. Normally our winds are west to east, but these came east to west. We have another bomb cyclone hitting tonight into tomorrow morning. I JUST got my power restored and don't want to loose it again.
I love all of the the really cool new editing techniques that you used in this adventure, and the equipment testing looked great! Can't wait to see that video.
Your buddy Lars at Survival Russia has done multiple reviews of the Bear tents. In fact he has one set up as a workshop in his yard! He and his family do multiple adventures annually in them. Great tents for outfitters. Stay frosty!
Luke, do you ever review canvas tarps and tents? Waxed canvas jackets or pants? Waxed canvas backpacks or bags? IDK about anyone else, maybe nobody; but, I would be interested …from an old veteran, retired in the foothills of the Smokies.
Luke, I’ve gotta tell you you have a huge talent. Your videography along with your friendly personable narration is just bang on. Really enjoy your shows whether you’re doing a review or just talking about the outdoors. Love it all. 70 in Toronto.
Nothin better than a cold 🥶 night, a good hot 🔥 meal, hot coffee ☕ piecfulness of the night, coyotes 🐺 howling in the night perfect adventure. More videos please. Sty safe n warm n blessed 🙏.
I have been considering purchasing one of those RBM 4-season hot tents for some time now. I believe that an unbiased review from you would be the most appropriate type of feedback.
Hey Luke, I can't wait for this adventure. I love the lantern. Let it rain let it rain as my grandparents use to say. You and sweet Susie need to do more videos at the cabin PLEASE PLEASE 🙏🏽❤. Thank you for all the PHONOMINAL adventures. You have great taste in music 🎶🎵. Thank you MS Ann 🌹♥️
Hi from the UK Luke, sat here watching another video of yours and a bit of winter finally showing for you. Same here for the last 3 days with no more than 3-4cm of snow. Would you believe schools and colleges shut. Teachers can't make it in to school. Trains and buses cancelled. Talk about snowflakes! Pun intended! Jeez, here in the uk everything seems to grind to a halt at the first whiff of winter. I'm 78 and we used to have regular heavy snow in winter. We walked to school with snow over the tops of our wellington boots, got to school (and the teachers) and sat all day with wet clothes and very little, if any, heating. We're still here! Trains won't run if autumn leaves are on the tracks, wrong kind of snow on loco's stops 'em running. Welcome to the modern world! I only came on the comment to ask about the Jalapeno Cheddar biscuits and sausage gravy. What company is it and do you know if the sell w/wide? I wish I was fit enough to camp again. You are an inspiration. Thanks Luke.
Funny enough I got a Russian bear tent this summer. It’s very nice was very expensive. The only down side is the weight in my opinion, a the tents blends so well in the fall!!
I really appreciate you going out during bad weather to test gear in actual situations- in the Marines we used to say “If it ain’t raining, we ain’t training”! Anyway I noticed you use a Nitecore headlamp and was wondering if you would do a review of the Nitecore NU27 and Black Diamond headlamp? As always I appreciate your videos-thank you!
I'm sticking with Big Agnes Tents. I've used the Mad House 6 in all kinds of weather Summer and Winter. The tent is rock solid. When it came time to replace a backpacking tent I went with a two person C Bar. No seams to run a pole through which is nice for setting up and taking down in a down pour.
Damn make me feel old if that's what you listened to back in 97, just out of the Navy after two enlistments. Remember being in school when Regan was shot, John Lennon shot, and the Space Shuttle shook apart in school when heard about them. Guam I think when the other Shuttle broke up.
Who else remembers when Luke went on actual adventures and didn't just go car camping on his own property? Pepperidge Farm remembers.. OOOHHHH YEAHHHH 🍻
An agenda free review of Russian Bear could be interesting. I have seen these tents on other channels, obviously they got them to review (free or a heavy discount so they give a good report). 👍🏻
I've been watching the weather and looks like they are calling for 4" of snow in the upper elevations. Love hearing the yotes! I see you testing the Free Soldier tent. I am looking into the Free Soldier 10x10 tarp. I have a 13' hexagon shaped canvas tarp from Kodiak Canvas and set it up off the back of my squaredrop camper at the barn doors the same as you at the back of your 4runner. 1997? Man now I feel old. I retired from the Coast Guard in 97.
I am amazed by all those tubes and flippy furniture. I can’t even trust real chairs and table. I’m an accident waiting to happen. I can find all the low spots or animal burrows to fall in or stumble over in camp. It’s a hoot when I enjoy the great doors. My camp mates stay prepared for the inevitable. 😝😝😝😝😝
I don't know why in the world you think the RBM tents are ugly! I LOVE those tents. I'd buy an Up2 or an UP4, except for two things. One: the price! and Two: it's too hot in Alabama to ever need a tent like that. If I lived again in the blue ridge mountains (where I grew up). I'd save up and get me one. They're camo tents, so if you hate camo, then I could understand not liking the look of these tents. I've seen people in the Northwest Territories who camp in those tents when it's 40 degrees below zero. Of course, they have an RBM tent stove, which they keep burning until bedtime. After running the stove for a while, the top of the tent inside can be 90 degrees! They hang their boots and gloves up there so they'll dry out overnight. And they do! The tents have inner and outer layers that keep condensation down to nothing. NO condensation at all. There is a snow flap all the way around the tent so snow doesn't blow in under the tent, or melt and run into the tent. They're just freaking amazing tents! What's not to like?? (Well, except the price of course.)
I like buttoned 2 seconds into it. Luke's rockin' new graphics and intro and cam shots. Nice! For a second, when Luke was pouring the water in the pan, I was like, oh no, not more brocolli! But it was for mashed taters...lol.. No, no Russian Bear crap. The Bear should stay in Russia.
Would love to see the review. Would be interested in seeing the Panda inflatable cabin/tent review from you.. it’s also expensive but very looks very interesting for a long camping trip. Do it!
I don't think Luke has ever had a camp meal he didn't like. I love how enthusiastic and genuine you are, man. You've got a good soul.
You have to be fair though, he also admits to liking instant coffee !
I like rainy camping 🏕 mixed with some sun to walk around in. You sure get to break-in some cool gadgets. I like my warmth in cold seasons. Enjoy.
He has snacks and on one trip had to eat his breakfast for dinner as the foreign MRE he brought out camping was terrible and likely very old. Very unusual.
AGREED!
I bought the Naturehike Cape 8P tent for the family because of this channel alone. The test reviews you do are invaluable Luke. LOVE seeing "behind the scenes" like this.
LOVE Luke's camping adventures in the rain and/or snow.
yeah, there is something very comforting about watching him camp when its thunder storming !!
Nice !!
Luke, Good to see that the Helene hasn’t dampened your love of storm-camping. Proud of you.
Take the free tent Luke, we’re here for it and for you. You’re trusted no matter what.
Yeah I think Luke has proven he can be trusted to give honest reviews. He might be worried that it’ll subconsciously affect his judgement of the product though.
My 10. yr old son and I love watching your videos. Great work.

I’m so thankful that you evaluate the camping gear that those of us on serious budges can enjoy…it’s helping us buy value for our dollar
I could be wrong but I don't think this channel is geared for high end/super expensive product reviews. A company like Hilleberg might be the exception. But in today's economic climate, I believe a lot of us are looking for a balance of quality vs value.
Nah the majority of us want high end, top dollar. Buy once cry once!
Agreed. I need something that is affordable and that will perform well under inclement conditions and last throughout the years.
Luke buys the equipment out of his own pocket, then reviews them. The companies that make the tents he reviews do not send their product or pay him to review. All of us want quality and a good price and that's what Luke does for us who want to enjoy camping.
Hi Luke hope your family is doing well. I appreciate the work you put in my friend.
I'm not a camper but love ur insight and humor!!!
Love hearing the coyotes while your camping/on lone wolf mountain. Long ago in my early days of camping in the north central PA wilds when we camped we always heard them calling to each other. Love what you do. Major Respect to your integrity and honesty.

@BeezusFafoon1971 thanks. I'm enjoying the ourage

I know I would absolutely LOVE to see Luke review canvas gear!!🙏🙏
It would be soo awesome! 😱
The pants he's wearing are waxed canvas, from Germany I believe 😊
@@Curt-b2xFjallräven is from sweden. Dunno where they produce their stuff.
@alexanderasdf2742 thank you guess the j with a y sound should have given it away as Scandinavian
@@Curt-b2x yeah, kinda 😅
I would love to see The Bear Products. Love this weather just like it is not weather that causes devastation.
Biscuits and Gravy baby ! Luke is like a kid when it comes to food. Such a genuine good soul.🩷

Rockin’ the new Final Cut transitions.
My feeling is that Luke gives a great wide Range of product. There's a time & place for high end and economy. Nice to see what is actually available.
I have been considering purchasing one of those RBM 4-season hot tents for some time now. I believe that an unbiased review from you would be the most appropriate type of feedback.
And all this time I thought you were drinking instant coffee. Thank you Luke for what you do.
Luke + food + rainstorm = happy camper

You can have fun in rotten conditions IF you have the right equipment !
Love thecold, rain, sleet!!
Love the video and the stories you share ❤
1997! Oh “the good old days”. When I was just a crazy teenager.
Good to see yall again, knee injury recovery is for the birds! Couple more months.
Funny enough I got a Russian bear tent this summer. It’s very nice was very expensive. The only down side is the weight in my opinion, a the tents blends so well in the fall!!
I know this will be great, so liked already!

Oh yea. I have been waiting for test night on the Fire Maple tent!
Great video, I always learn something from you. Loved the music but was waiting for the gangsta rap.

It's a good thing you like diverse weather. 🙂

OOOHHHH YEAHHHH 🍻
Thanks again Luke for another great adventure. Be well, be safe, to you and your family❤😊 I just love this kind of weather❤❤
Luke’s favorite meal pinnacle foods- jalapeño cheddar biscuits & gravy hands down!
At $22 a MRE... i hope its good.. haha
Love you vids Luke
Biscuits and gravy!! My favorite breakfast. Enjoyed the video. ☺️
Sure I like odd tents and stuff and it fits and u have done some expensive tents before
Outstanding my friend equipment testing night
Once again you have made me hungry

Hey Luke love your show been watching for 2 years now yes please get and test one or a couple RBM tent those things are awsome like a pop up camp
this weekend would be a good hot tent trip in your neighborhood!
Hey man, I really like all the new video effects!
I can tell you guys had a ton of fun with that intro.
My friends say :"lets go for a walk now before it rains." I say "no lets waIt till the rain comes." Thats why I mostly walk alone.
Alone could be good…
👌
Yes I would be interested in seeing some Russian bear gear
Where I live we only get 6” of rain annually. 4” at once would be Noah’s flood here.
I really hope WNC gets a very very mild winter this year ! No snow would be good ! It is not needed with all the damage there
I would love to see what you thought of a Russian Bear Tent. They look like they can handle a lot.
Thank you for sharing This Truck Camping Adventure My Favorite
Hi Susie. ✌🏾
PS that story about your friend with the shift in musical taste in FUNNY! Going to give put on the Cube after this ;)
Seeing Russian Bear reviewed by trusted source would be great.
RB is good but not cheap, 1 man $1000, 2+ $1500-2 both with fire jacks, gets whatcha pays for.
What a treat - breakfast!

I would very much like to see you do a review on those tents!! You never know when a tent will become home sweet home. Would want a good o e.
Winter is here. Snow in N. Indiana. Here we go!!!!
Great video! Just watch out for forest hobos that might see those inviting tents! Haha Stay safe, man!
Would love to see the review. Would be interested in seeing the Panda inflatable cabin/tent review from you.. it’s also expensive but very looks very interesting for a long camping trip. Do it!
It means that a storm is coming with a hell of a lot of rain
Good video. Can't wait to see your reviews on the tents
Someone’s having fun editing 😀
