- Hi! Usually on this channel we get out of our comfort zone and do things we've never done before. But this week, we had to share a bigger message... We're Ammar, Thomas, Matt and Derin and are from 4 different countries and were particularly affected by the ISIS terror attacks from these past few weeks.
At a desperate time, we felt like the most important thing to remember is that we let them win if we divide ourselves... As people we have to stay strong and stay together.
Love to you all.
SHARE the love! And SUBSCRIBE for more.

In all honesty we wish we had chosen this quote instead: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." As someone eloquently put it below, the only way to solve this crisis is to "recognize that they are human too. That they just got lost. There is still hope for them, to forgive, to love. If they can't, we will forgive and love for them."
+Generation Y Not That is so beautiful! So proud of my MTL boys :)
+Generation Y Not And, so let it be.
+Generation Y Not You guys have got this message so right. Love the fact that you admitted that you think the video could have been improved, but I'm so glad that you've clearly thought about this not just being a Paris-related issue and encouraged people to take this message further by using hashtags relating to other places too. I'm SO glad I found your channel :D
This is such a kind and forgiving thing to say and I hope those lost souls turn back and that with time, they won't end up lost as well. Spread love not hate xx
Yes Theory initiate the crying right before bed. Thank you creating this video and sharing your bonds with the world. I'm glad to have subscribed to your channel and cannot wait to see what other projects y'all complete in the future together.
Now these, are "INFLUENCERS"
@@lillapickett2906 theory?
The shot of the man at 1:42 was really powerful. You can really tell how much you guys made him think and reflect.
+Rob H bruv can you think positive and stop instilling prejudice into your very own mind?
+Yolo Swaggins His statement seemed very positive to me, I didn't read any prejudice in it, perhaps you need to reread it.
+Diane Taylor The person deleted his comment. I'm not sure we are on the same page at the moment.
+Yolo Swaggins Oh okay, I thought you were addressing the original poster, but now I can see it was a Rob guy....so sorry. I was wondering cause I read the original poster about 10 times trying to figure out how you took it as a negative. Again, I apologize for the misunderstanding.
+Rashaun Reyes He stood quiet for almost a whole minute. Very powerful moment.. Love- Generation Y Not
I literally started crying. A video has never made me cry before, but this was just beautiful. I really hope humanity wakes up and starts working together. Very well done again boys.
+Tylan LeDuff Love you Tylan
Generation Y Not love you guys more

its literally been five years, and this video still gives me chills because of how simple and powerful this concept is
I'm here because of Xavier Dolan who tweeted this video.
I lost my cousin Friday, she was at the Bataclan, she was 23. This video means a lot to me, I wish I could have been there to hug you.
#PrayForTheWorld
Merci pour cette vidéo
My condolences to you and your family.
M DeSouza thank you!
I'm here thanks to him also ❤💙 I'm so sorry for your lost :ss
+Léa Thblt thank you Léa
+Coline Jorand We wish we could hug you too. A friend of mine was hit in the back at the Bataclan and is still in the emergency room and there is nothing I can do.. I wish your family all the love Coline. -Love, Thomas
Who would dislike such an amzing video
ISIS - and other people like them
People who have no heart with cold soul.
So beautiful! I literally teared up watching this... Thank you you amazing brothers for spreading such a positive message! As a Muslim Canadian (born and raised in Quebec) I often fear stepping out of my house while donning my hijab. Many close friends have unfortunately been forced to remove their headscarves because of them not feeling safe anymore in their own hometowns! Let's create a united community where we are ALL equals and no lives matter more than others! Btw I came from MTL Blog, they shared ur pic and video all in 1 day in case u didnt know :)
Hey, don't let the hijab push you down. Instead, stay strong and put it on. If you stand close to your faith, you should proudly don it no matter the adversity. 💪
+Rana Ahmed The hijab doesn't have anything to do with terrorist attacks either... some people are just too stupid to make that association haha
+Rana Ahmed That is truly sad, and un-Canadian. I totally agree with your sentiment. We Canadians have accepted people from different countries and cultures, since the dawn of the 20th century. And I don't see why that should change anytime soon. Also don't be afraid to wear your hijab, I think hijabs are beautiful, and I'm sure many others agree with me.
+Rana Ahmed Thank you for sharing your story Rana. We 100% agree, we're all brothers and sisters, you should NEVER fear stepping out of your home while exercising your freedom. We need to all unite as citizens of the world and treat each other as humans. Love- Generation Y Not
+Yanti Ashaiban Yes!
We are all one
We are indeed All ONE...and one day EVERYONE will have this Realization in their Heart.
i love you for saying this man
So basically I saw this inspiring video from you guys going viral on facebook earlier today and spent the whole evening watching every single one of your videos...This youtube channel is amazing! Keep up the great work, you're truly inspiring! Et bravo Thomas pour ton editing, super clean!
+Ext-Team TV Merci man! J'ai appris à edit ya pas très longtemps donc j'essaye de m'améliorer à chaque video :) Et merci sa nous fait vraiment plaisir que t'ai aimé le reste de nos videos!! -Thomas
I come back to this every year since i found it 8 years ago and always brings a tear to my eye
Why aren't they viral?
Now, they are viral
Damn this still amazes me after 5 years
it's saddening how relevant this video still is.
My God I wished I could have friends like you guys sadly life didnt grant me that kind of thing right now Im living the the saddest part of my life now homeless few days from now I'll be eating garbage food few days I wont be able to access internet anymore or talk to people anymore have a good life all of you cheers!!
Hang in there, it will get better. Nothing lasts forever
This is the best video so far....I cried and it didn't hurt my manhood even a little...
I'm going back and watching all the videos mentioned in the book, and the chills im feeling, like its my first time watching it all over again, thank you for being you yes theory and writting such an amazing book Matt (and Derin 😉)
who's watching their vids from years ago this quarantine and still shedding tears? my heart..
Me😭
Thank you guys. I live in southern France. I was devastated saturday. Let me tell you just one thing : they won't put us down on our knees. We're sad but we carry on doing what we usually do every single day. We're united and we stand tall.
Damn that was beautiful.
+Ricky Odriosola :)
This is one of my favorites videosI´ve ever seen!! You guys made me cry!
Thank you for doing that!
+Andy Maassen ❤❤❤
Andy Maassen lmao i also cried, even though i said i wouldn't
I don't judge people who kill, like ISIS. I don't like what they're doing, but I can't hate them. They're humans too. They just got lost. They didn't find the right solution, they went the wrong path.
There is still hope for them, to forgive, to love.
If they can't, it's okay. We will forgive and love for them.
No fuck them. The assholes, not even assholes that's to decent of a word to describe what they are, who committed the acts of terror in Paris and around the world as well as ALL of ISIS deserve to die for the crimes they have committed, the families they have destroyed and the lives they have ruined.
We don't know if their own family was murdered by US bombing or else. I know that nothing justify their actions, but I think that we judge too quick. Anyway, I'm against killing, even the most evil person, but obviously, if they are dangerous, they must be stopped.
“To injure an opponent is to injure yourself. To control aggression without inflicting injury is the Art of Peace.”
― Morihei Ueshiba
+jays x That is quite the perspective. However we can't defend innocent lives with forgiveness in love from man made tools of destruction. Their organization must be eradicated in an ethical way.
Have a little respect for animals please...
I think, hate is not the solution. 3000 people died from World Trade Center. After that, we sent bomb on Irak and we killed 15 000 people.
We are acting like terrorists, but worse.
We need to learn how to stop the pattern, how to stop the vicious circle of killing.
When you kill one person, 2 more want their revenge and the cycle never ends.
+jays x Thank you for this
I love this. I am so glad CBC picked it up and promoted it in an article! As another Canadian youtuber, thank you so much for spreading the message of love that we have here in this beautiful country. We must fight hate with love and unite - such a wonderful video!
+Courtneysvlog Thank you Courtney!
i think this was one of the first Yes Theory videos I ever saw back in 2018.. been a big big fan ever since. the emotions hit me then n they still do now - will forever be one of if not my favorite of your videos. love over fear, always
I love it that you did not make this about Paris alone but over some of the other places where people are getting murdered and hurt every day
I usually watch this video every once in a while, its definitely my favorite, I just watched the video of Time to Change, BLM protests and here I am.. Together we stay strong
Making me proud to be a Montreal Canadian, especially during a time where people are letting fear into their hearts and spreading hatred, this video is perfect and it's exactly what we need to see more of!
Every time I watch this I started crying!!
Now Dajer and Matt both...... missing you both😢🥺
YES theory's name will be written in golden words in history!!❤️
#LoveOverFear #SeekDiscomfort
I don't think a video has made me cry as much as I cried just now. Thank you, guys. I long for the day this is true amongst everyone. ❤❤
I love coming back to this video every now and then. It still gets me emotional every time
Three years on and this video makes me cry, thank you so much for your channel and everything you do
Thank you.
I surprised myself as I teared up. Your channel was recommended on my sidebar and I was instantly hooked on how you changed your lives in 30 days. THIS video was an even greater inspiration.

It's 2021 and I'm here crying. BEAUTIFUL
I'm a new member of the Yes Fam and just saw this for the first time. I’m crying my eyes out, you guys are some of the most beautiful humans on Earth. God bless.
5 years... it’s been 5 years since u made ur first video, now I’ve only been following you all for a cpl years and I can’t lie I still struggle with getting out of my comfort zone but have still learned so much from u all! Thank u for that! I’ll carry the lessons through my life and follow ur lessons when I can get out and grow, much love from the best Virginia... West Virginia... keep changing the world in the most positive way possible
Out of all of your amazing videos, this might be the most amazing one. Thank you for being this brave. Especially for Ammar it must have been nerve wracking not to know what could happen after hate against Muslims was spread. Thank you for this guys ♥️
Je suis de Montreal! I am a bilingual Anglophone and it always saddens me when people from Quebec fight over language or religion. A video like this means a lot to us, thank you. Merci! A new subscriber.
Might be the best video you guys have made so far! Couldn't stop crying. Your work is so important to the world. That one man who stood and just stared, maybe you made him think outside the box he has been in. Keep up the good work! Much love!
This is why your channel is what it is. I’m only twelve and I realize these things even in my community. When I’m sad, YesTheory is my first go to. YOU GUYS ARE ONE OF THE BIGGEST IMPACTS IN MY LIFE!
I think as Canadians we can be the first country make changes . It has to start somewhere and let's show the world that Canada can make that change. We have to stop hating each other in Canada and try to make a differences. This is my Christmas wish 🙏🌎✨
+Houssem Khaled thank you so much much for sharing that with me :) I lived in different parts of Canada and the eastern part is okay i lived there for 11 years but the people are so races and i lived in the western provinces and i found the people are disrespectful so i move back home Winnipeg and the people are nice people and they don't judge about your sexuality if you know what i mean . I come from a small town in Manitoba it's a little French town oh yeah here in Winnipeg if you can speak more than one language you have a better chance of getting a good job. Do your research I'm just telling you from my standpoint and how it is . Okay take care and if you come to Canada i would wish you lots of luck okay and my name is Arnold
wow, this really hits in 2020
And have a good day yall and remember that there are people who love you and support you.
Came back to this video today, after France latest horrific events, lets never forget the message this video conveys
You really hit the nail with the timing... Lately the value of humanity has been attacked, doubted and humiliated by the Daesh.
I ain't gonna say more. The video left me speechless. Awesome, just awesome.
+Rey Dus Thank you brotha
This video have the most strong good messege. Thanks for doing it.
I can not express my feelings. you have done what was needed and I support you and I hope everyone does. Thank You.
+Zachary Salem :)
I come to this video every once a while to remind myself of this strong message that no good can come off hate and darkness. Everytime I watch this video, I can't help but cry.
Yes Theory, you aren't just a RUclips channel, you are a light in the world of darkness. Thank you for everything.
I do love the way music gets along with this
Still here in 2021! Always come back to this video when I need to
Thank you for doing this.
This video is a glimmer of light in the dark. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this. You guys are wonderful.
"Filmed by Derin Emre"...fascinating
I'm currently on Christmas break and decided to binge watch your videos. You guys have truly changed my life and I'm going to try my 110% to have that "yes" in me for 2018. Thank you boys and hope you can come to Miami one day its pretty cool...God bless and keep spreading the love!
This is so beautiful and seems extremely relevant today. Thanks you for spreading the LOVE!
When I get goosebumps when it’s not cold, it’s because what I’m watching or doing has meaning that touches my soul. I got goosebumps watching this.
THIS is how we defeat terrorism. Guns and bombs cannot do it. Love and togetherness can. Love you guys. Great message.
+Mike Fry Yes Mike! Thank you
We are all brothers, tragedy brings us closer together. Thank you for your touching message.
Very Touching Video. I would 100 percent chose love over fear as we all united and love conquers all fear no matter what. Love is in all human and in all reglions. You are guys are the best human beings ever. Even after 4 years, we guys are still spreading the love with everyone.
Just found this video after taking a deep dive into Yes Theory. Thank you for sharing this beautiful message. This has been my favorite video of yours yet. The bravery and love you all shared was incredible
i can’t help but just cry. y’all really are the best and for standing together and being a whole showing everyone we should stand together it’s beautiful i can’t help again but to cry. much love for y’all:,)
For me this is one of the most important videos in the world. It is tightly attached to my heart. I saw this video when it launched while browsing reddit after the horrific Bataclan terror attacks. It quickly resonated with me on a very deep level. It was the same time when the European migrant crisis happened and where I stood up for my beliefs of humanity and kindness for each other stronger than ever - despite a lot of loud right-wings seamingly taking over the topic for their own gains. Then, swiftly after, the terror attack in Munich happened where I was on site. Every time I went back and restored some part of my faith in humanity via watching this video.
It's tough for me to rewatch this video and I cry every single time I come back. I can't believe it doesn't have more views, but ever since then I watched Generation Y Not erm I mean Yes Theory religiously. The collaboration with The Real Life guys was also outstanding for me as they are from the bigger Munich area as well.
So in the end I write this to you, Ammar, Thomas and Matt - and the entire team behind these videos - to say thank you. I cannot say that your are my roomates or my best friends, but in my heart you are my brothers.
Good luck and good spirits during the ongoing pandemic and a great journey in the upcoming years - especially to Matt with his new project, will miss your face.
Kevin
It doesn’t matter what year this was posted... it hits home. Thank you for making my eyeballs wet. 🙌🏼👏🏼
6 years later and still one of their best videos
3 yrs gone and its still the best msg we can get through internet.
This one of the reasons I still believe in humanity.
Thanks guys for doing those kind of things. It gives us hope.
This is how a movement is started. Did you know that it’s not the first person to start a movement but it’s the second person who isn’t scared to standout with the first person! You guys are the creators and we are your movement! Thank you Yes Theory!
Stuff like this is why I love you guys so much. You really are bringing the world closer together and it's awesome.
I watched this video today and how coincidental is this that today morning there was a blast in Buirut. And I saw the message pray for Buirut.
I look at this video again. it's so weird, now with corona it's so hard to imagine giving someone a hug and seeing so many people together. I hope that corona will be over soon and that we can do everything again, and it is still beautiful to see this. I love to look at you're video's, it gives me so much inspiration. I LOVE YOU GUYS ❤
soo glad I discovered your channel through a post on facebook. You guys are great and I just love how all of you and soo many other people around the world stand together, shoulder to shoulder when it really matters.

Just read about this video in Matt's book "talk to strangers".I had to see the tha actual video. This is a great reminder especially on what is going on in the world today. Hopefully more people see this again.

I'm so glad there are people like you on this earth. So proud of you guys
Way to go guys! This is awesome, we need more reminders like this, that we are all human beings and we need to stick together in the face of adversity, rather than turn on each other because of a group of demented individuals who do not see us as humans. I'm only sorry I missed you guys at Berri this morning.
Thank you Ammar, Thomas, Matt and Derin!!!
No matter how funny these guys are in their videos, this one was by far the best. It’s been nearly three years and not much has changed, but this little piece of hope will forever be here for anyone who needs help finding their way through this ceazy world. So thanks for this.
This is a much needed video for everyone to see.. With what’s happening in the world, we really need LOVE over fear..❤
this is the best of all, if everyone could just understand this one word 'humanity', the world would know peace.
Thank you for your simple but poweful messages
