Dino Fury vs Ryusoulger || 3 Rangers Morph Comparison

- Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger (騎士竜戦隊リュウソウジャー, Kishiryū Sentai Ryūsōjā) is a Japanese tokusatsu television drama and the 43rd entry of Toei's long-running Super Sentai series, succeeding Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger and following the four week special TV miniseries Super Sentai Strongest Battle. Although the series primarily aired in the Reiwa era, it is considered the final Heisei era series, since the last time an era changed, the era was based on when the show started. It is the fourth Super Sentai to utilize the motif of dinosaurs, having been preceded by Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (and Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Brave), as well as the first to utilize the motif of knights. The show aired from March 17, 2019 to March 1, 2020, joining Kamen Rider Zi-O, followed by Kamen Rider Zero-One in the Super Hero Time line-up on TV Asahi affiliate stations, making it the first Super Sentai series to not debut in February since Gekisou Sentai Carranger. Ryusoulger began airing in South Korea in August 2019 as Power Rangers Dino Soul during its airing. Its footage will be adapted for Power Rangers 28th season - Power Rangers Dino Fury beginning in 2021.
Power Rangers Dino Fury is the twenty-eighth season of the American television program Power Rangers. The season premiered on Nickelodeon on February 20, 2021. Dino Fury is the first in the television series to be produced by Entertainment One, which Hasbro acquired in 2019. The season is produced using footage, costumes, and props from the forty-third entry in the Japanese long-running tokusatsu drama Super Sentai series, Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger, and is the fourth entry in the American series to utilize the motif of dinosaurs (having been preceded by Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Dino Thunder, and Power Rangers Dino Charge)
In terms of transformation PR can sometimes be better compared to SS or vice versa, but in terms of Roll Call tho, most of the time Super Sentai is just straight up better in the roll call part.
Especially when we get something like "T-Rex Fury" versus "Knight of Valor".

exactly like when they individually say "knight of valor, ryusoul red" instead of "hya hya hya red ranger" to fill in the silence which might be the better option sometimes
Ryusoulger has the better role call by far and being the original, feels more in line with the theme but to Power Rangers' credit, actually using the idea of the morph coming from the grid feels like a loving bit of fanservice from the series history that just feels good to see played out on screen. I will also wholly admit to being a sucker for the synthwave soundtrack in Dino Fury
Power rangers morph looks as if they are trying so hard to look cool it actually gives the opposite effect, their morph sequence has many poses were they stay still for a while and feels way too slow. Also too much words just to transform:
"It's morphing time! Dino fury key! Activate! Link to morphin grid!"
While with ryusoulger is just:"Ryusoul Change!" After they quickly open the key and insert it, then let the little guys make their ritual and the suit appears.
And then with the roll call it keeps being Ryusoulger win, is nice how they focus more in announce they are knigths than the over used "X dinosaur power" and their backgrounds look awesome, a warzone with the zord behind and then the clasttle with flags representing eqch one of their colours is totally better than PR empty blue generic background.
I do agree in the points you stated but it still looks silly, Specifically the oompaa loompas dancing around them and then running to henshin. The whole idea of knights dinosaur theme is ridiculous.

Dino Fury's morph sequence was cooler imo, but Ryusoulger's henshin fit the concept more(ofc it will fit more it's the original every design was tailored to fit the concept).
Dino fury’s looked really trashy compared to the original. Like they take wayyy too much from Mighty Morphin and don’t give them any new transformation battle cries anymore and it’s terriblen

Tbh, ryusoulger has more knight-ish, being the roll call depicts the battlefield. The dino fury one reflects their transformation with morphin grid related stuff.
I only see henshin comparisons only, so it's a win-win to both.

Honestly i love how Dino Fury really incorporated music into their morphs. but in japan you wont get away with just acting. You gotta have a good enough voice to voice act all your morph and in-suit dialogue. Power Rangers have the most bland monotone voices ive ever heard in my life.

In terms of the roll call, Ryusoulger wins as the knights aspect fits more, but in terms of the morphing sequence, Dino Fury wins since the effects are very awesome, actually seeing the morphing grid, and one nice detail I really love is that when the rangers are morphing, Zayto’s (and later on Aiyon’s) sequence is different showing that he’s already been used to morphing so much, meanwhile for the other rangers they’re amazed at the energy engulfing them. And music is some of the best morph sequence music I’ve ever heard.

Dino Fury’s morphing sequence went hard for no reason and I appreciate that
Ryusoulger wins, from the way they flip their keys and insert them in the changers and raise their arm before flipping the mask over has way more flair than Dino Fury where they just flip it the key and insert it in the morphers normally. and the whole futuristic morph sequence in the dark room with black spandex is kinda generic and overdone at this point

I disagree. It's Dino Fury for me, because not only it was cool it was also way quicker than Ryusoulger. Ryusoulger literally has little knights dancing around you as you raise your arm to the air, which is slow and could have been done with. It fits the theme of their setting, but it wouldn't work in the American setting. I'll have to admit that the roll calls for both are cool in their own way.
neither would the entire theme of shinkenger(samurai) and yet nickelodeon and neo-saban still greenlit that

I'm not a Sentai fanboy, although I liked Ryusoulger. But Ryusoulger had such a badass roll call, don't know why they shot original footage. PR always kept Sentai roll call until Ninja Steel....
While I like both, I gotta give it to Ryusoulger.
First off, I don't like the helmet transformation in Dino Fury. Ryusoulger did it better. As for the rest of the transformation, Dino Fury is cool but, Ryusoulger is more accurate because of the whole medival-knights theme.
And for sounds, Ryusoulger gets the win and Tomokazu Seki's voice just makes it more better.
I always hear the same lazer blasting sound in pretty much in every PR show during morphs and attacks. (It's like the whip crack sound from Johnny Test)
A kid wouldn't notice the sound however, a older person would definitely notice the lazer blasting sounds.
And finally the roll calls. Come on, it's obvious SS always have better roll calls than PR.
Ryusoulger is better, its more Knight-ish. While Dino Fury is just too futuristic

Serious stuff can sometimes be cool or uncool. With Dino Fury's transformation, it's a bit uncool. In fact, it's kinda lame compared to Ryusolger's henshin.

@Isaac Montecillo because power rangers had always been copying from super sentai from the start. super sentai does all the creativity and power rangers chooses which show is fit for they're audience and also changing the show a bit to make it seem like it's not copied but we all know that doesn't change the fact that power rangers copies super sentai.

Love the kind of banter pr had with each other, kinda makes me want to watch it
Ryusoulger will always take it. PR (especially since Samurai) has a bad habit of being waaaaaaay too cheesy and ignoring the themes of the season. Ryusoulger's henshin feels more fluid, and hasty that the Dino Fury one. Really begins to validate those "bad guy waiting for the hero to transform/power up" memes. Not only that but the way the Ryusoulgers flick their keys is sick and the Knight theme could have been a cool way for PR to come away from it's Dinosaur fetish.
The Dinosaurs in the media had been in a lukewarm reception after Jurassic World Dominion and the Prehistoric Planet documentary. PR obsession for dinosaurs is a bad sign for reeking of their nostalgia.
@@MiXVoy It comes from Sentai mainly, but you also have to consider with that the fact that there was 10 seasons between Abaranger (Dino Thunder) and Kyoryuger (Dino Charge), and 7 seasons between Kyoruger and Ryusoulger so there was a good spacing between them. On top of that, the main themes for each of these seasons wasn't all focused around Dinosaurs like Ryusoulger because it was more based on them being Knights. PR just loves adapting Dinosaur based seasons and ruining the motifs and the base theme of sentai seasons. Look at Gokaiger for example. A great Sentai season about Pirates who essentially stole the powers of past teams and can use them at will, but Super Megaforce just handed them different suits and used sentai footage with barely an explanation other than "just because". PR quality is slowly starting to come back in quality but it's like the show is aimed at toddlers nowadays instead of kids or long term fans.

Maybe I am too western but I feel that some elements of super sentai henshin sequences fit more in animation than in a live action

Just by the morphing sequence, PRDF is better imo. But if i include the sound effects, Ryusoulger is way better. That laser sound effect when morphing. I feel like i heard that too many times in the past few series before. Why are they obsessed with that sound? Just make another sound effects
And their morphing choreos, DF looked stiff. Like they don't bother to include key inserting part when they don't even insert it properly instead of making a seperate cuts where the keys are actually inserted like in ryusoulgers. Reminds me of ninja steel where they don't actually spin the shuriken when morphing and they don't bother to use that anyway.

With special background of dinosaur and the meteor theme, Dino Fury is a win, otherwise, go Ryusoulger.

The the fun sentai jingles really do a lot to build up anticipation in these sort oscenes, not 100% of the time but it's more often than not.
In Jungle fury's case, it's cool that they included "Link to the morphin grid" but the rest of the stuff they said felt like filler

I definitely agree. Not only does the Dino Fury morph not have anything at all to do with knights, or even dinosaurs, but the concept being based in the morphing grid alone is really more of an MMPR thing, since that was the first time the morphing grid was shown. I don't see why it was important in Dino Fury specifically, and even more so the fact that they themed it futuristically, the complete opposite of the prehistoric theme that comes with both knights *and* dinosaurs. Like seriously, what were they even thinking.
