Hi. I've had a conversation with someone for the past year using Messenger (both on PC/web and on phone). I want to download the chat so I can search what we talked about. I found a way to download a JSON file onto my computer but I have no idea what to do with the files at this point and I cannot find any directions for what to do with it. Is there an easy way to download and view the prior conversations (so I can put it in a document reader and search for specific items)? Thanks!

@@TrevorNace I can tell you. Like many previous comments...just doesn't work. This process (your instructions) does not recover deleted chat messages...only shows your current chat messages.

It only works on laptop not on Android
