Despite how stinking cute that baby is, I’m glad you are keeping a strict rule on only the best for breeding stock. And I have a silicone collar for my border collie and it’s holding up really well hopefully yours will to!!
It’s good how much thought and time you put into making sure you are breeding and keeping nice, healthy goats! Jasper will make an amazing little pet for someone! Also, in a scenario where Winston didn’t have any issues, him and Hazel would make babies with some outstanding colors! Obviously Winston isn’t perfect and it is good that he is wethered but I’m saying if he didn’t and all that.
I definitely think it’s very interesting to see the comparisons and the traits after analyzing with both goats of different origins and your goats raised on your farm. I’m really glad you’ve decided to take upon new goats into your own herd because it’s really fascinating to not only see their own stories of their family and personality, but also the lines of traits their bringing in
Thanks for being such responsible goat owners, especially with putting your goat raising out on the internet which puts so much more pressure on you! Especially with all the opinions from those that have never been around goats, much less raised them!
Oh my gosh, Jasper, is sooooooo stinking CUTE!!!!!!!!!!! And Hazel seems to be a really great mama! This channel is the BEST for potential new NGD goat owners! You guys are so informative and the education you offer is so very much appreciated.
it makes me so happy moving to arizona and getting to see the baby goats thrive and grow in the same state as me !!! so happy for hazel and lil jasper 🥰
So happy he has a name jasper! Hazel is a great mom, he’s so tiny! Love the coloring so sweet! Awe play with puppy dog! 🥰 hopefully you’ll keep the sweet baby, maybe you’ll keep sweet hazel if her family can’t keep her?
I have a lot of respect for you & your family. You let the mama goats raise & feed their offspring instead of bottle feeding the babies (or baby). I've seen enough goat videos that show all kinds of odd behavior (you point out some in previous videos). I hope to get a few goats sometime in the future. Hubs & I love raw goat cheese, raw goat milk....so thanks for showing a better way to raise goats. 👍👍👍
This is one of the highlights of my fridays!! And the foods y’all make always makes me so hungry and I’m gonna have to start showing my dad these cause I’m sure it’ll inspire him a bit food wise! And I’m sure he’d love y’all’s channel. Also good luck on the goat collars y’all
A plus to the silicone collars is that they are easy to clean! I have them for my bigger dog and when he gets mucky its a quick rinse. Would suggest one for Salem too!
During a bit of the beginning of the summer I helped farm sit for my friend’s little farm and they’re main product was selling goat milk. I don’t want to sound mean but as soon as I got there and helped with the goats I could tell there were some problems because of this channel and you reminded me of it with talking about hazel’s utter problems. I remember some goats looking good but I’d say the majority didn’t have the best genetics like some had these big almost swollen looking utters, body structure, the pen they were in, etc.
Ive also been learning and improving my herd based on quality the past couple years and its so fun and interesting to evaluate goats now that i know what im looking for!
love all you guys and gals do ......love the animals and learn lotz ....thank you for the information you share and oh yea the cooking part is so great ....love it all and all the family . thanks lotz
Gosh I wish more people were responsible and considerate to the eugenics of breeding animals as you are! in horses, dogs, cats, etc there is such a massive problem with overbreeding it is ridiculous!
I have yet to convince my husband into getting goats so I love getting all this breeding information from your channel seeing as it would be something I would have thought of later so I appreciate this information now. 😁
Wife convinced me, that’s why I’m here. She doesn’t know but I’m saving up for material for building small barn and different things, then I’ll buy her two for now… but don’t tell her lol
We can hope those collars will last! It's always neat to see your thought processes behind decisions. As cute as little Jasper is, it'll be better for the breed to keep him as a pet. I just hope he never outgrows his baby fangs!
DaNelle since you aren't keeping Jasper and it's not like Penny's knee issues why don't you let the new owner decide whether to keep him as a buck or not. Just a thought. Btw our Shep had a silicone collar for 11 years. We just had to put him down this Tuesday the 12. The collar outlived him. Best dog ever. A very hard week indeed.

Kudos for being responsible goat owners and not letting potentially bad traits pass to other generations!
That’s my kind of corn bread. I was raised in Michigan and didn’t know about white cornmeal. We always added sugar or honey to the cornbread.

I really respect how responsible you are as a breeder!

Jasper is so cute! I love to watch your videos of them nursing, because their little tails wags so fast, lol. They are so happy.
Really good explanation on what constitutes a great buck.

He really is the cutest I'm so happy he is safe and sound from a little stressful delivery!

Ive had a silicone collar on my buck since I got him in April and it's still like new! So I'm pretty sure those new ones you got will work!!

Such good Goat owners. Making the hard choices to do what’s absolutely best for all Goats around. Hugs!

Tonight it's 52°F & wet here in central Illinois. Chili & cornbread are on my menu for tomorrow, too. Yum!

Ughhh this IS hard! Jasper is so sweet and has good lines, but do you REALLY need another buck? Ugh why’d he have to be so sweet and cute.

also, tell Lydia that even though the buckling isnt going to be called Emmett, you can keep it for an animal you might keep in the future!
I would encourage you to keep him .
I have horse tack made from that material and I love it because not only does it hold up to the horses but it also cleans up sooooo nice and easy
