This may work better with butter. I recommend melting two to three pounds of butter, placing the cob of popcorn in the melted butter, then placing it in the refrigerator until it all hardens again. Then, take that brick, place it in the microwave as you did in the video, and pop as you normally would. Enjoy!
microwaves use standing waves, meaning there are parts where there is lots of energy and parts where there’s none (which is why the plate spins to try and get each part of the food touching the high energy bits at some point) so there’s parts of a microwave where if you put a small enough camera there (smaller than a blueberry which exploded b/c they’re the same size as the wavelength so it gets supercharged) then it’s fine, say like where a screw goes or something

Every year my Iowa county fair actually sells popcorn that's still on the cob. Everyone loves it, and a lot of people buy it in bulk just so they can save it for winter/early spring.

problem is, growing up , we used to visit grandma on her mountain house, the only corn i ever saw was the hard one, i never really knew there was sweet corn and hard corn and was always amazed thinking the corn on the cob we ate boiled or grilled was the same hard corn , took me a long time to know, i was even more surprised to know some people eat the sweet corn raw from the cob like nothing.....we live and learn.

Lol I realize this at the first year of high school I took culinary class and it was pretty good.
