Just curious, what system were you using before? I'm looking to upgrade from the Furman HDS system. Which i've never had an issue with. Just want more channels and the possibility to link for stereo.
I used the much-admired Oz Audio HM-6 Q-Mix Headphone Matrix amp/mixer (no longer made). In terms of sound quality, the step up to the Hear Back was a radical improvement.
Furious Fast I ended up getting a Hearback setup. It’s on my patchbay and I route from my Apollo 16 into 4 stereo channels on the Hearback. All analog over db25
Sr. your video tutorial is a good help... but i wanted to know HOW you hook up to your computer and mixer?.. i.e, I have a Studio live 32.4.2 AI presonus, an iMac.. As far as I know "hearback personal mixer" is available just for only 8 inputs, right?.. So If you don't mind, how did you hook up the Hearback System HUB to you PC o MAC? ... Where the connectors must be plugged? Inputs, direct outs in order to make a good internal mix throught Aux? Thanks you so much for your supports.
They offer multiple methods, but the two I use most are 1) analog 1/4-inch TRS to the Aux outputs on the console/converter, or 2) Toslink Lightpipe (i.e., ADAT or S/MUX) if the console/converter has Lightpipe digital connectors. It's actually very straightforward to set up. You can download the PDF manuals from the HearTechnologies.com website to see exactly how it is done.
I have a Yamaha 02R96, which is basically the exact same configuration as the DM2000. You can use either of the methods I described in my previous comment to connect to the DM2000's 8 Aux sends. Again, the manuals are online at the Hear Technologies website.
AzaleaMusic cool, now how can I still use my console talk back function to talk to the musicians thru the 8 aux sends? It seems it’s off or something because it only goes thru stereo output with talkback
Thanks for asking! I record with 19 inputs (full band) and 8 outputs through my DAW, and there is ZERO discernible latency from the Hear Back in either analog or digital mode -- even without Direct Monitoring turned on in my DAW/interface. The Hear Back will never be the bottleneck in terms of latency; you'll get far more from your interface drivers, computer audio subsytem, and DAW software and plug-ins than you ever could from the Hear Back. It's one of the major advantages of having a device that has one dedicated function: monitoring of audio output. Hope that helps!
Most definitely! The system was actually originally designed for live use, and then adopted by studios. If you get it for live use, I would recommend getting it with the built-in limiter option, which is not featured in the review that I did here. See their website for more details. Thanks for asking!
Thank you for your answer! I've been struggling with this for a long time, not only because of the speakers, but also on what everyone wants everything to sound. One more question. Is there a diference if you plug two headphones in the same mixer?

Hi Russ, how do you hook up the furman HD’s system? From your converter or your mixer?

Good question don't see to many good vids show how to route in DAW to the hear back hub
How do you can connect this from your console? Or from the converter?

How about latency (both in analog and digital) ? Thanks

Thank you very much for the detailed reply !
@@stevegalante Happy to help, Steve!
Would you recommend this for live performance?

Ramfer Lopez
There is no difference. Both headphones get the exact same mix, and at the same volume level.
Thank you very much, i know where to make my next investment then. Have a great sunday!
